How to differentiate between Drama and No Drama
« on: May 16, 2016, 08:57:09 am »
Dear Ambrosians,

I see that most of you guys are complaining that a bunch of topics are being moved to the drama corner, and you don't like that. I totally understand you, a topic might seem like a drama topic to one but not for the other. That's totally understandable as opinions differ from one individual to another. I am here to try to put an end to this, and no this is not another shit post but an actual serious post (don't move topic to drama corner please - couldn't resist sorry!).

First and foremost, I have to clear the air. Since I am the moderator of the drama corner, you might think that I am responsible for everything that is in the section. You are right and wrong at the same time, allow me to explain. Everything that is created within these walls is indeed my responsibility, however I do not have the access to move other topics that are created outside this section to the drama corner. This is out of my hands really. So if you have any complaints as to what topics are being moved to the drama section, please contact the management.

Now I will tell you guys how I spot drama and how I know whether a topic is worthy of being moved to the drama corner. First and foremost, understand that there is a fine line between seriousness and drama. When an individual is being serious, he will try to provide some data/proof to back up his theory/idea. When it's all about drama, the individual will try to reply to the individual he is in quarrel with just for the sake of it, there are no proofs and sometimes his thinking lacks logic as he wants to have the last word and that's why drama topics never die.

Now you might ask what about the topics that start as a rational serious conversation or discussion and then transforms into a drama thread? Should these topics be moved to the drama corner? Well if you ask me, then I would say yes. The entire topic should be moved here. But why not split the replies that are dramatic and make it their own topic? Well, most of the time when you split the reply and make it it's own topic, the context is gone. Imagine a guy opening that topic, he'll get lost unless he already read the topic that the reply was first created in and makes the connection between the two topics.

Hope that answered most of your questions.
Regards,

To be honest, drama will always exist and this forum is not an exception. There is simply no way to please everyone, therefore it is pretty much certain another event will take place in the future, it is just a matter of time.
How you deal with it is what will determine whether it will be a serious problem or a plain episode.

PS: Nice dik pic, looks beautiful

So, if i start a serious and respectfull topic, and ppl start to spam and go off topic there, instead of warn those spammers, my whole topic will be"trashed" (moved) here?  :-X

So, if i start a serious topic, and ppl start to spam and go off topic there, instead of warn those spammers, my whole topic will be"trashed" (moved) here?  :-X

Keep in mind that the posters have the duty to stay on-topic (even if we are still a bit lenient regarding this) and to stick to the Forum Terms & Conditions so if they respect them while interacting in the topic, then why should they be punished?

If you organize your arguments, don't provoke anyone, use appropriate words (no need to use words like f*cking, kid and so on, there are tons of appropriate words that you can use instead) and don't make a hateful topic, then I can assure you that the chances for this to occur will be very low since members tend to adapt the mentality of the main poster and so, if you are being 60% provocative then they'll be 60% provocative when they will reply to you whether they support your arguments or go against them so the one who has to be careful is the main poster.

If you respect the guidelines that I have provided in the paragraph above but some members still manage to cause drama by respecting the Forum Terms & Conditions then the topic will still be moved to the drama corner but at least you won't be responsible of it as long as you don't keep fuelling it of course.

If you enjoy drama then you are technically allowed to post dramatic posts wherever you want as long as you respect the Forum Terms & Conditions but keep in mind, that this may have a serious effect on your reputation (specially with staff members) and that your topic will of course be either moved to the Drama Corner (if it respects the Forum Terms & Conditions) or to the Garbage (if this isn't the case).

If you only care about expressing your ideas without causing any drama then respect the guidelines stated above and I'm pretty sure that nothing will happen but I cannot promise you that this will be the case since there are always some exceptions. At least you won't be responsible of it and your reputation will not be affected.

Your topic your responsibility.

so if they respect them while interacting in the topic, then why should they be punished?
but  this is not the example im giving. im talking about: i (for example) start a respectfull and usefull topic, but ppl who reply on there start to spam and go offtopic. ofc its not my fault, coz my topic is important (at least  for me). all this  is an example

so, again, and sorry  for insist, if i start a respectfull and serious topic, with good manners, and some ppl start to reply with drama and offtopic, my whole topic will be moved here?¿ ..... even if my topic is important or relevant. instead of warn the spammers, or remove the useless replies, my whole topic will be moved to this "spamming section" ¿?

coz i dont  see this fair

different case would be if i start my topic with bad manners and "attacking" somebody..... but if my topic would was respectfull and im not searching for drama ¿? why my usefull topic should be moved here cause of those spamming replies ¿?

What you don't understand is that this corner shouldn't be considered as a negative thing but as a neutral one. Most topics that were moved in the "Trash" in .eu were moved only because the topic ended up in a dramatic situation (fights, etc.) and therefore, the freedom of speech was just an illusion most of the time. However, some decisions have been taken and we are not willing to keep censoring the forum only because some people take the decision to express themselves in a negative way by respecting the Forum Terms & Conditions and that's why this corner was created. So now, unless you really disrespect the Forum Terms & Conditions (we are still lenient with some of them), then you can be sure that you'll always be able to express yourself however you want.

If you make a suggestion topic and some people disagree with you and start a dramatic situation then this will depend on the suggestion's worth and seriousness. If your topic was not even a suggestion but only a discussion topic that was posted in the wrong board that ended up in a dramatic situation then your topic will more likely be moved to this corner. However, if your suggestion was a serious suggestion in which you expressed yourself correctly then I can assure you that your topic will be moved to the suggestions archive as soon as we will have taken a decision regarding the suggestion.

If you start a discussion topic without being dramatic of course, but people disagree with you and start a dramatic situation then your topic will more likely be moved to this corner in order to ensure the security of the drama queens and to grant them the freedom of speech that they want so much.

We will of course still give you an appropriate answer as soon as possible, even if your topic is in the Drama Corner, but as I said previously, if you don't want to cause a dramatic situation that may affect your reputation in the community then you should respect the Forum Terms & Conditions as much as you can and the guidelines that I have provided in my previous post.

Theres nothing wrong with the drama section to be honest. It will go down to the issue of: what is drama, what is a serious topic and why a topic was moved to this section if it has. And that depends on the judgement of the FM's which of course will not please everyone.
Do not be rude in speech. Restrain Anger. Be good to others. Do not be arrogant. Forgive others for their mistakes. Speak to people mildly. Do not ridicule one another. Do not say a word of disrespect to your parents. Do not follow anyone blindly. Grant more time to repay if the debtor is in hard times. Do not engage in bribery. Do not break promises. Stand out firmly for justice. Women also have the right for inheritance. Protect orphans. Do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly. Try for settlement between people. Avoid assumption. Do not spy and backbite. Spend wealth in charity. Help those in need by finding them. Speak to the needy kindly. Honour your guests. Be dutiful towards your parents. Practice what you preach. Stay away from corruption. Fight only with those who fight you. Keep striving. There is no compulsion in religion. Choose rulers by their merit. Do not burden a person beyond his scope. Do not become divided. Men and Women have equal rewards for their deeds. Do not be miserly. Do not be envious. Do not be an advocate for deceit. Stay away from sin and aggression. Be just. Avoid intoxicants and alcohol. Do not gamble. Do not insult others’ deities. Eat and Drink, But Be Not Excessive. Protect and help those who seek protection. Allah will forgive those who have done wrong out of ignorance. Invitation to God should be with wisdom and good instruction. Do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Keep aloof from what is vain. Do not enter others’ houses without seeking permission. Walk on earth with humility. Judge with justice between people. Do not neglect your portion of this world52. Enjoin right, forbid wrong. Do not walk in insolence through the earth. Women should not display their finery. Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Decide on affairs by consultation. The most noble of you is the most righteous. Act justly to people of all faiths. Seek forgiveness of Allah. He is Forgiving and Merciful.
