[Feedback]Forum Feedback - Jake
« on: December 17, 2015, 08:57:51 pm »
Greetings!

I'd just like to throw in a little.. Topic of mine i've picked up with my time on ze forums of ambrosia

Quickly said, 'ts too strict.
Its a god damn gaming community for crying out loud!

Now, The lil bit longer way to say it.

It's too strict, It is a gaming community afterall.
I know we all need to act professional & Need to keep the forums clean And i do understand that, But when it comes to the point when someone gets warned because they post in the wrong section, then shits need to be changed

Lets take me for example, Quite some time ago:
I posted in General discussion about askin for peoples snapchat, Since its a community~ & Todo said the following V ( V = Watch Below )
I do know why it was posted, & In the wrong section ( Which i was unaware of at the time )~ That right there got me a Verbal warning
Which i found a bit stupid, Check the post & You'll see following replies.

Now, My point is.. We've got Forum moderators to take care of such, right? To move topic if they're posted wrong, Or Delete topics if they're not appropriate at all no? So i don't see the reason to .. Warn people over slight mistakes like these, I've seen people getting Warned ( Over forums ) Cause of posting wrongly & With a bit of aggressive Content, Which ( IN MY OPINION ) Should just be deleted & PM the poster saying thats bad, Instead of publicly humilitate the kid for not thinking very clearly of what he had posted.
The post where DonTodo " Verbally " Warned me, Was a kind post~ I didn't mind it THAT much, Which i feel like was the correct response, Huzzah DonTodo.

I.. I'm having problems trying to get to my point for some reason, But i do hope you understand~ I <-- Me, Jake, MYSELF Think the forums has become a very strict place.

http://www.ambrosia-servers.eu/community/index.php?topic=32602.msg412596#msg412596 ( Blurry vision, You know like.. uhh, Flashback style! )

Now, A Little more of an example! ( Sorry Todo, You is my target for calling me boosted & A noob! :( )
http://www.ambrosia-servers.eu/community/index.php?topic=34632.msg435604#msg435604

Now, Apperently forums have a strict policy on posting " Correct & Filled " Comment as many have seen and witnessed, But it seems like.. Some people don't have that rule? I get he is a HIGH Staff and has some sort of immunity, But It has to end somewhere~ Like the post above ^ ( ^ = Look up )

Now, When mr. Thrashmands did the same, just saying " Wahaha! "
This happend!

dude i was collecting clips about dontodo viewing topics and after few scs people get warned ofc todo is right they should get warned but its funny how some highstaff dig holes to find those rule breakers but then i tho that todo will warn me / turn the spot light on me 24/7 if i actually published the video so i did cancel the project and moved on xd

( maybe they are hard workers jake ) maybe...

The point of this topic is about how strict the forums have become, Not a complain or Anything about DonTodo, He was just a target that.. The internett randomly choose
Ignore that part & Just focus on the part where i tried to explain that the forums is too strict..

Okay then let's go through your topic.

You firstly talk about verbal warnings but is there something wrong about them? I have already moved tons of topics from the General Off-Topic Corner and I have tried most of the time to give a verbal warning in order to let the original poster know that he posted the topic in the wrong board. This doesn't mean that the member would have been warned if he did that several times but it wouldn't be professional from our part to move topics without giving a verbal warning to the original poster. Keep also in mind that Todo was a Forum Moderator at that time since he got promoted in September 30 and therefore, this was part of his job so his intention wasn't to punish you for this slight mistake but to simply move the topic that you posted in the wrong board and to let you know that you did a mistake while posting it there.

After that, you talk about the warning system. You somehow believe that punishments should be executed in private and not in public but once again, you are wrong. "We" already give a lot of chances before issuing a Forum Warning and the purpose of a Forum Warning is to cease somebody's activities when the verbal warnings are not respected. Some people respect the verbal warnings and therefore, they rarely get punished but others don't respect these warnings and so, a punishment (Warning => Moderation => Mute => Ban) has to be executed on them in order to cease their activities. I have already seen tons of people disrespecting the Support Law but most of them only get a verbal warning.

If you would for example take in consideration every single warning that has been issued since the date that you registered in the forum, you would realize that most of the members who have been warned from the forum have already been given more than one verbal warning most of the time and that's because they disrespected these verbal warnings that a forum warning had to be issued on them.

Finally, you talk about "High Staff's" immunity and that's why I linked you this topic in order to let you reconsider your opinion. Keep in mind that the Freedom of Speech is different in every topic. Someone who posts a meme in a topic made in the comedy corner won't be punished while somebody who posts a meme in a topic made in the Unban Request board will probably be warned verbally for it or punished if the offence exceeds some limits.

In addition to that, I'd like you to keep in mind that you can still report anyone who has Forum Moderation rights by posting a ticket in the Forum Moderation Review System Department of the Helpdesk if you believe that he isn't doing his job properly.

Cheers.

I must ask.

How do you know if we send PM to members? Or how do you know that we don't send?

You have never been part of Moderation team which means You are not able to see higher topics where we discuss, who to be warned, for what, and how to be warned, and should we increase his warning level or should it just go with a Verbal Warning as I call it Oral..

I don't mind your feedback at all, but it's not supported with facts in order for you to say that you have been manipulated by the staff.

I hope you change your point of view because I (to be honest) rarely see some misunderstandings at Warnings, unless there is a guy stubborn (not talking about you) who is convincing us that the Discussion at CS Applications is good and not a spam. I mean, cmon.. :)

Cheers,
Popay

-the way i see it . in every board in the forum there is always a topic that explains what the board is suppose to be . what you should post and what you should not post . 5 mins of your time reading it would save you a lot of headaches

-in addition to that , i've never been warned ( maybe 5% years ago i dont remember why . but im sure it was for spamming wich i did ) .
and to be honest the chances of getting warned or getting in the troubles you guys mentioned is very low . ( not with our current FM team )
you just need to analyse your move before you do it . simple as that

-forum is like a tool that we use to communicate and share our ideas and opinions . so before you use the tool , you read its manuel first .
same goes for the forum , read the manuel before you use it

Firstly:

The post where DonTodo " Verbally " Warned me, Was a kind post~ I didn't mind it THAT much, Which i feel like was the correct response, Huzzah DonTodo.
Secoundly?:
Yes, I'm sure theres alot going behinde " the scenes " ( Also for Popeys reply ) But, You are not getting the point, It is simply too strict!
As said in the post, If someone posts in the wrong section, They will get a verbal warning for it, Next time they will get a Warning on their profile..
Just saying, We do have forum moderators for a reason, So if it is posted in the wrong section, Theres a " Mission " For the forum moderators to deal with, Instead of having to issue warnings to everybody .. There are 4 of you, The forum isnt that active that it needs 4 moderators just to warn people & Then move it.

Your final reply:
I don't feel like any Mis-Judgement or Abuse has been made towards any players, This is simply a feedback on how i see the forums, And as a player~ not knowing what is going " Behinde " the scenes, I have a diffrent look on it than you do. And in MY Eyes, It is simply too strict..
& The High-staff " Immunity " I'm aware of, I've read the topic & How things gets handled privately.
So can you really judge me for having such an opinion when no other players ( admin & Lower ) Never witness it, Please put yourself in my eyes & How the forums are view'd Through my Vision

It is completly diffrent.

And! It doesnt have to be such a free-will that people will abuse it.. Thats just like removing all forum moderators, Rules can still apply but right now, I feel they're too strict
We're an community no? & People ( me ) Is often scared of posting Images / Gif to try to lighten up the mood in a " Sad " Discussion about amputated dogs. Not everyone mean bad, Mkay?
So just do put yourself in my eyes & Don't mix what YOU KNOW, Into my Opinion
Cause your vision is diffrent, But its the Players view that count, Right? Hence why it has to be so " Professional "

I get it Jake.

But we don't warn people for posting in wrong section.

I myself move topics every day just to help members around. I will talk with the FM team about it,, which I doubt they have done something wrong. :)

Thanks for letting us know, though. :)

Wee mostly warn when people Insult/Support rulee violation (if that is not their first time), and posting offensive material.. Nothing else :)

-You are not getting the point, It is simply too strict!

-Rules can still apply but right now, I feel they're too strict

-why it has to be so " Professional "

-Jake , which one is too strict ? the FM team or the Forum Rules/system its self . because in my eyes we are having a cercled conversation that wont get us anywhere

-i think Maybe you mean with the word "too strict " the word " too serious " . If that's the case , then there is no point of continuing the argument here and pointing fingers at the FM team . Because don't forget when you judge the FM team , you judge the syteme it self ( because they represent it )

-that's why i believe you should drop this topic . and maybe then you can make another one in Generel/off-topic board where you express yourself there freely ("without being afraid from the FM " ) and talk about the poeple ( players / users ) that are taking a gaming community so seriously

- which does not apply for the FM team . Because when it comes to organizing and moderating such a widly known community  ( ambrosia ) wiith such big number of players/users around the world . it is a must to be strict and stick to the rules ( knowing that all the current FM team are really relaxed and humorous ) {REFRESH / Ray / Popay / Druid }

EDIT: - I just would like to add that Popay's act of keeping this thread opened for people to express them selves freely here about the FM team/system just shows how you jake might be wrong on what you said above . i suggest you reconsider your point of view

Simply put jake...

The Rules and the practitioners of rule legislation has always been strict in this community. Unfortunately due to "forced" vow by anyone higher than Fm+ that is hierarchical staff in the community must support each other which means every one showcases a partial aggressive state of affair via their tools of forum handling, and afterwards a partial mercy state. That way it's a indirect reminder to every member in the community that they are in a hierarchical seat. DonTodo at that point of time thought the severity of your doings required a warning and you simply have to remind yourself that what you did was wrong. There is no strict formula in ambrosia of adjacent steps into "punishing" a person for their mistakes, it all comes who sees it first and what is your relation with him.

I can mention then when we ask for reason we got warned, we simply get ignored, when we ask for second time, we dont get the proper reply. The only proper replies in those cases, are ones from popay (and sb else).

And consider my point of view? You're very lost buck..  lol

- I believe that Refresh , Popay , PL and me gave you a full suffisant explanation of how the system works . and why it's so " strict "

- i would love to explain again , But that would be just a waste of time

- in addition to that . if the point of this thread was to give your feedback about this forum . i believe you would have already understood why it is ( as you say it is   "too strict " )  from Refresh`s ,Popay's and PL's posts.  i can quote their posts but i believe that would be just another waste of time

-Knowing that only you ( jake ) and other few people ( most of them are banned more than once , or have attitude problems ) feel like they get judged not fairly by a strict FM team

-
Its not so Buck can come give his honest opinion claiming how bullshit my feedback is..
Don't forget where you're posting, You might get warned.

giving our opinion ( judging the good and bad points ) about your feedback(point of view ) does not make it look like Bullshit .
Its called having an argumentative conversation

- And i'm sorry , Because im starting to believe that this is the point of your feedback
Simply put jake...
if that's the case then im afraid i'll have to go make the dinner

- and the last but not least . when you are judging an opinion that was said to you about your feedback , we would love to see you going throw the ideas that were pointed in it ( what you agree and what you disagree on . and why )
im sure that would save us alot of time , and alot of talk

I can mention then when we ask for reason we got warned, we simply get ignored, when we ask for second time, we dont get the proper reply. The only proper replies in those cases, are ones from popay (and sb else).
- Please  Red Wolf  you know better than anyone that you just pointed your fingure at the whole FM/UC ( since they are the ones with the  ability to issue warnings on you ). If what you said was true Ibelieve that a simple pm to Popay ( since you said he is the only one with the somebody else to give a proper replie )  about what happend would suffice

- Iam aware that this is a feed back thread where you express yourself freely . But yet you cant just state that the FM/UC team ignores when you ask for the reason behind the warning .
you know better than anyone that either you provide name+evidence or either you dont say it ( i believe that there is no need to explain why . im sure you do know why )

Why did you bother writing it in a first place and expect people to read your long post, if you don't read theirs?

On topic. If anyone has any issues with FM team please contact me I am willing to talk about it but on TS3. Because writing on Forum many people only talk without having facts.
