Hello there,
I'll be stepping on this topic, however I judge buck's actions as not "ambrosia-like"
First and Foremost, the command slap use is to physically "activate" the player in question that is conducting something of mediocre trouble or a minor argument that tends to be negative in which slap is used by the administrator to show his lack of "communicative" co-relation with that player. At some points this is justified and coherent if the player is showing obvious unwillingness to follow the administrator's orders.
For example, the player doesn't stop camping and is intentionally exploiting a "laming" situation, slaps are in that circumstance justified to a point where other commands that give that player a handicap can be used.
In any situation what happened as the screenshots are presented buck was "overusing" the command slap which is not in confirmation of administrator activity. There is no time period where slap was considered "fun", it always was a synonym that some administrator couldn't provide a answer to question in which typing amx_slap is easier than engage in long arguments and convictions of who knows what sort. And to this day, other than if a player is "laming", slap is quite unused nowadays, should stay like that.
Secondly, I'd like to contradict what ray says that using administrator commands generate fun. Fun comes from creativity, where people combine and invent new rulesets of games that bring exotic experiences for the players. On special days, administrators are only then allowed to try their shot at creativity with the disposal of administrator commands. But slapping somebody for no reason, isn't much fun for anybody. The only time this can be "fun" is when 5-7 people are on the server in which the collective want to do something else than listen to commands and orders. In those times you are unofficially allowed to do what ever you want with your administrator powers but make sure everybody is in with agreement with your actions.
I'd mention the same thing that happen with Shiro just said "gods don't exist", and got spanked hard by those copypaste comments. Did somebody on the server was hurt when he said that, NOPE! Double standards as Rawr says...
Once a famous mcain said: SpecialDays are days where everybody is on a brake from the rebelling and commanding, it's not the day where you have fun.
Now talking about dontodo where he says commands should be just the simplest amx commands is something I don't agree. Even since ambrosia had a jailbreak, amx_super was a must because administrators could invent and make really good combinations of administrator commands to call it a new special day, or a normal cage day and etc. It's quite old fashioned of me, but I would like the amx_super to be reverted back and just add the special day menu from tony's plug. Nothing is much needed from tony's plugin which is just automated what administrators do and make. I agree that fun should come out from a ct's brain and not some fancy administrator commands, but there is always something you can use from those commands and call it a "thing" It's most encouraged to make and create new things so people don't leave from boredom.
I see that you are blaming a "interlooper", that the probability of one person being a the radiator of negativity and intends to make others unhappy. But why expose yourself to the little thing called "visual and acoustic evidence", you can still have fun in other ways than slapping people. And I do mean a lot of other ways if you are so into using commands for no reason. To this year, people always founded workarounds the rules that depict them as good "lawyers"
