Addressing the elephant in the room

So i just wanted to write this, even knowing that i'm not active and everyone will white knight about it,
i only wanted to address the elephant in the room ( or shall i say the giraffe at this point )
Why is there still a cs 1.6 DD2 server? it's really not bringing anymore players, nor is it even that active and no offence silver but the managing is more than shit tbh if instead of paying to boost that server the owners could've boosted a csgo server or made a new server, i know that this will get some people to rage and write hate comments in this topic but this just had to be done, since no one has the balls to do it i might as well do it myself.
like ok the DD2 server is here, hey oldies you're welcome to comeback and enjoy the dead server that used to be popular in 2010-2014 or hey potato pc owners you can still play a 1999 game that's currently dead ( WHICH I DOUBT ANYONE HAS A POTATO PC THAT CAN ONLY RUN 1.6 AT THIS POINT OF TIME, i mean it's 2019 come on people ), the only use of that server as of now is to drain money to be kept up ( money that could be invested in something better )
just imo don't start being all *IM AN OLDIE AND THAT SERVER IS GREAT PLEASE DON'T REMOVE* kinda bullshit please

Well it's not like DD2 is using any resources at all, but tbh at this point even trying other small servers like L4D2 and so on wouldn't hurt, anything different or newer than 1.6 would be a change.

I have no idea about what is going on behind scenes so i am going to keep it mainly in  facts everyone can see: last community update announcement was made in november 2018, a fact that i believe which talks by itself. CS:GO servers are active, it is a fact as well, but when i join to the forum i am (most of the time) the only one connected.  This is the problem, now, the solution? well, (apart of what is being done behind scenes, if there is something beging done) i would add new servers from differents games, try to boost the activity in the forums, try to make people cooperate with the new serves with suggesions, which one they would like to see and a long etc i would say. Please, it is not just criticism, im trying to give ideas and help, cheers

a year ago? dude you haven't seen the 2010-2014 DD2 have you? that server was full almost always, we were one of the most famous DD2 servers for 1.6 ever, but that changed as the game got old and new and interesting multiplayer games came into the field and completely shat on 1.6

i always defended 1.6, but even i can see there is no future on it

my opinion is to focus in good free games (like CS:GO) which everyworld could install and play with us, without wasting a single coin

recently i discovered RaceRoom Racing Experience, a free driver simulator, with very good critics. The free game brings 5-6 cars and 3-4 circuits. Making a server is not hard, coz everybody can host his own server from his pc, with an usefull tool featured on the game. Ofc u can buy  more cars and circuits 1by1, or by packs. So i think this is the type of game that could bring more players. And im not saying "make a Raceroom server", but i think is a good example of free, current and good game that could help us

Anyhows, Our focus is nowhere to be honest, We've all sort of taken a break due to red's semi-absence. Once red finished his studies we'll pick up where we left of.

There is a MW2 Crack-game out there~ Basicly a mod but its COD:MW2 & its free, Requires no games.
I looked into doing a server but does not seem to be supported on linux, So we are thinking about closing down 64 Tick, Use that external host to host this mw2 server and create a new 64 tick on the dedibox which 128 is on.
This will require an ip change unfortunately but thats unavoidable
Plus side? we'll probably get rid of that dumb lag we can't sort out.


Doubt we will do a Garry's mod or l4d2 server

Good idea switching the host. There’s a lil lagg when many players (usually 20+ players) It’s sad to lose our players, but I could just warn players a few weeks before

then do it instead of being lazy as always

but tbh. it would be a good idea to make sure people know it before hand, and maybe even let the "old" 64tick run for a bit so people can join the "new" 64tick while it is running, so that we don't just write "on xx/xx/xxxx date we are switching to this new Ip"
