Author Topic: [SUGESTION] Changing the server or adding a new one (Read 239 times)

Hello guys! As you may have notice, our lovely DD2 is quite empty (not your fault, silverquick) and i was thinking that I usually play in a server called inferno only or assault only, even dd2 2x2 only and they are full (english only community and it is never boosted) from a community which i wont give the name to not do free advertisement so the idea would be to give a shot and try another oe, changing the server to dd2 2x2 or inferno or assault to see if it may works or maybe adding a new one (even though i know the answer to this) so, well, it is up to you, but it may works, better than having an empty server.. we can try it out, what do you think? Just trying to give a solution if it can help

Maybe adding more maps not just 1 map only and it keep repeating.
Maybe like nuke, dd2, mirage, assault and more maps.
A vote would be made in the last 5mins or so of the map.

The server u are talking about is probably active for years, maps are not the issue, getting a 1.6 server to be active is almost impossible these days.. people gave up on 1.6

Im sorry but No, we've had public server and dd2 server at the same time, dd2 was pretty full while public was pretty empty or about 10 players . People generaly search for de_dust2 at gametracker, it is the most played map, if it doesn't bring players, inferno wouldn't even be worth the try.
Burzum's server was closed due to this problem.
I suggest you to boost the server weekly, for one month, just to increase its rank on gt.com then people will come easily.
The servers you are talking about are boosted nearly everyday, they must have their dose of 32 players every hour.

My opinion is that no one wants to play regular 1.6 on the same map over and over again especially with small amount of players.

I suggested to make it $16k every round except first few pistol rounds, free nades every round and also make it max amount of awps per round to be 2 because everyone wants to buy it.

This alone should make it more fun to play and I don't see a reason not to add it.

I suggested this before but I was told to make my own server

You guys need to understand that the server has been in this state for months, something obviously isn't right.

The servers you are talking about are boosted nearly everyday, they must have their dose of 32 players every hour.

The thing about boosting now is that they auction off the boosts, They don't sell em to the first buyer
so every boost can tripple even x4 times in price which over a month gets very.. Very expensive.

even if you boost the server to a decent GT rank, it will fall behind shortly after stopping the boost. So i dont think boosts will help at all, unless we keep boosting forever.
I don't think any cs 1.6 servers is worth having, but hey, i might be wrong.

i remember inferno map being added for a short time, and there wasnt any improvement on server

1.6 servers full of players are only old servers with a lot of regular players on them, and even most of them are filled only at specific times (evenings/afternoons). empties rest of the day

i would love to see server active with different maps, but that is an utopia

I get what you all say, and you all are right about it, but having in mind all this, why dont we remove that server and make exactly d_dust2only cs:go? or even try another game, so you dont pay for an empty server which is useless and more knowing that it will never be full daily as 3 years ago It is sad to admin that cs 1.6 is dead but it is

You aren't even allowed to have dd2 2x2 here and you mentioning different maps

There are many servers that are full nearly 24/7. So no, it is not completely dead. There is still a lot of people playing. Our server is too classic, that's why our server is dead. When the game was at it's peak, we were good because it was classic - stood out from all those servers with a lot of junk in them. Should be the other way now. Look at Arabian and tell me the game is dead.

So we should keep investing in games that may or may not be dead while dozens of others are released every year?

This debate goes on every year, and every time someone applies for a server, it gets accepted and without boosting it's empty.

I challenge anyone in here, with a bet, to apply for their 1.6 server, install whatever they want in them, but get it full for a week straight without a single boost.

Certain people are paying for the servers we play in, and for their boosting.

Boosting 1.6 servers is not something we're going to do anymore
We've attempted it not to long ago, won a week on the auction for $57 dollars which only lasted for 2 days before the server died down again

but we can probably change up dust2. Silverquick can make a vote and give his opinion on it and we'll take it from there

My opinion and idea about it is that we could try to swap to aim/fy maps when the server is empty after a certain time players would join to play aim/fy maps and when it gets full we can move back to normal, need a plugin or something for the switch or Admins should do a vote to change and like this the server wont be that empty, we need to create some challenge I've seen this on a certain French server I say it's worth to give it a try since I know players would love to join and play some aim/fy maps simply because it's more fun, but we wouldn't keep it for a long time as soon as it gets full as said we go back to normal, it's a way to gather players and attract them and about the maps we could choose 4 or 5 aim/fy maps like aim_map / fy_pool_day / awp_map / fy_snow / fy_buzzkill / aim_ak-colt etc...
