Server additions - opinions
« on: December 26, 2018, 09:22:58 am »
I'm acting more as a member on this one since I have nothing to do with it, but a couple of ideas I personally found interesting and was wondering what others think. There are quite some promising games, and others we could expand on, even in simple ways.

1)CS:GO Casual
A simple server where we will be able to do some gatherings and fight each other, not having go 1v1 at all times, but more like a DD2 server. Maybe add some implementations to make it more fun-like, but keep the purpose, teams vs teams, 1.6 style.

2)DayZ
DayZ might be progressing at a very slow rate, but it is progressing nonetheless and currently only Rust is competing against it at a very good pace. It is still promising and the last 2 months has gained a whooping 220% increase of players according to Steam Charts.

3)Minecraft
Many people get hyped when this gets suggested, but I'm personally a little hesitant. It didn't reach the roof with its activity if I recall correctly, hopefully people are still interested and will return if its decided to return.

4)Call Of Duty
Many versions, lots of activity, even in the old ones. What kind of server and what version can be decided later, but a CoD server could be an interesting debate.

5)Garry's Mod
Easy one, still popular, could be given a shot.

Simply some ideas on the table, mostly for the sake of a discussion.

hi
I think you should switch cs1.6 jailbreak server to csgo, since it is now free and available for everyone  and thats the only solution in my opinion to regain the server's activity.

Well I had once idea bringing casual dd2 and JB. Casual server is easier to manage, but JB would bring more value for Ambrosia in longer term.

Plus, if you check the CS:GO Section in the forum, you will find something you didn't notice.

12v12 / 16v16 (depends on server max capacity) casual mod in cs:go works as many servers implement this mod, just gotta add skin features you have in other servers (!knife / !ws) and it's done xd

I don't think Dayz server is a good idea not just because i don't like it but u will need someone who had an experience with the game since the Beta and i don't think anyone here does. other than it has shit graphics and shittier story  ::) game sucks so freaking bad
We had so many minecraft servers and if I'm not wrong it was removed not too long ago. People love minecraft, i would play it but I'll get bored by the next month or two and same goes to everybody else.
u got to be specific in which mod for Garry's Mod.

CS:GO Casual I've been talking about for a long time.

So that I think is a good idea.

I like the minecraft server idea aswell, I mean I suck at MC, but it's actually an interesting game with many players and much more customization than all other games we have servers in. big +rep

I was playing some DayZ Here the other day & i came across the most amazing thing i've ever seen.

Other than that, We might do a DayZ Server, Lil problem with hosting it as our dedi runs on linux & DayZ Is not supported for linux-

Minecraft that would be a solid no..
aswell as call of duty

If garry mod. Which gamemode did you have in mind?
csgo casual sure. i'll get redwolf on that right away when he has time

I suggested to navily a few months ago to do garrys mod server because the game is very played nowadays and prop hunt/darkrp/murder would be great additions (choosing 1 of them of course not all), the same as getting back inferno only cs 1.6 server or zombie server back

We had a vanilla TTT garry's mod and it was very hard to populate it, unless you offer a totally new and unique gamemode without loyalty  garbage and cosmetics, you gonna have a pretty wasted slot on your dedicated box.  Be advised that there are more ways you can destroy a garry's mod server than ddosing a cs 1.6 server.
