Back then I used to play in XXL servers which closed a year ago due to inactivity of their servers, they were a bunch of old dudes (30's and 40's) in the US who opened 2 servers in KSA where I lived back then and only gave adminship to those who pay 5 $ a month... That was the reason why they opened them there in the first place. After tooo many attacks they lost their patience and closed down both servers. They had CS:S, CS:CZ, and CS:GO servers from day 1, only CS:CZ worked well for them after both servers closed. They tried to expand like we're thinking to do now, and that's the reason why they closed. From insurgency to TF2 and all CS's they didn't manage to get enough players and they just shut it down completely. https://imgur.com/Ellltw9.jpg
Then I moved to wTB~ as they opened the same mod newly and that one had troubles... https://i.imgur.com/cNS2fdp.jpg
Little after, wTB~ vanished from gametracker and nobody knew what happened to it cuz lmao who bothers to get in forums? I just did in XXL to pay for my adminship fees.
I was lost until another community opened and it is still doing great gave up my adminship there to play here cuz they changed a lot in the server...
That mod never died, 2 boosts and it stands on it's own since people are guaranteed to come again!
Some called it super/silent soldier, some Fun rotation, some Stealth assassin... It's all the same concept 4 jumps and stealth with knife, with westwood india snowfun and a couple of other maps will be guaranteed to get players to that mod!
That's my cs 1.6 server suggestion and yeah, I have never tried managing a server so can't do all that. I know it's not rocket science but I have 0 experience. If I get help I'd be more than glad to take care of it.

Other games however, let's stick to casual games like Garry's mod prophunt and Trouble in terrorist town, CS:GO bhop and surf although surf is boring maybe add a FFA HS only pistol or awp lego etc...
I feel like the concept of wanting to open a server that lasts forever active doesn't work anymore. Gaming is growing in a waay faster pace than it used to and people move from game to another, so we need to see what's new and keep cycling from games and mods and make events and announce to let them reach outside forums to different communities, by that we for sure get people to register here and look up to what we wanna do next and stay in touch with us and by then they will for sure join our servers and spend some time in them. That's the only way we'll grow in this pace... We need to reach more people since people stopped reaching us.

I would like to hear some opinions about Fun Server with RTD. Just like AoG had back then, when I started 1.6 (which is like 10 years ago). It was pretty fun and it only needs 6-8 players on the server to make the game super fun. I'm on phone rn but if i manage ti find some videos i took back then im going to upload them. I'm not sure whether it was fun, or whether i was 8y old, hence id like more comments on this.

Omg, I played there too! vip_truck , ka_roadwars and awp_skok were my favourite! I have a similar server with just fun maps, cars etc... it's mostly full at midnights with all steam players but it's location is really far in Colombia I guess...  I like it as I like jailbreak but I don't think it will "help the community grow in different directions."

I don't want to make a big paragraph on most of the previous replies, but left 4 dead 2 was tried and failed. Raven i think hosted it personally and it was only used for when they got around playing, but afterwards they went back to their mobas(in that year)

Not anyone can afford PUBG though, need to invest on games that can be afforded by most of Ambrosia members.

Well sooner or later the price will drop, most likely on summer sales. We gotta keep all options open, just in case. Although personally I don't like PUBG much, we can't deny it's breaking records.

Not necessarily the price of the game though, but you gotta look at PC requirements as well to make it run as it should be.

More than that in sales its price either doesnt drop or drops from 60$ to 20$ and for people who doesnt have paypal they need to go to a virgin megastore and pay approximatively 30$ for a 20$ steam wallet card.

Of course you have to look at the requirements, it's 2018, you can't expect many games to be running with a low-end PC. The Half-Life(1) graphics are gone. Some games are still less demanding, but sooner or later it will all be about graphics, unfortunately.

Again, 2018, it's all about money now. Don't misunderstand me, I'd never pay 30 euros for PUBG, but you can't act surprised when you see this price while some other games cost 60 euros(!!!!!)  or more. If the sale gets to 15 euros or less(I doubt it would get less but anyway) I'll buy it. Don't forget CS:GO was bought by most people at around 10 bucks.

That's why I said not anyone could afford such games so we can expand based on them, but if you take a closer look you will see how CS kept Ambrosia alive since it's been created not other games although there are some games which is as cheap and as simple as CS.

Again, I don't like PUBG, my friends play it and I don't, but if we don't consider this: http://steamcharts.com/app/578080 an option for the future, I don't know what better ideas anyone has to offer. All cruzN and I are saying is consider, not immediately implement.

Of course it's the most game all time played nowadays, but we are talking about community here not playing PUBG game in general out of playing it in some community aspect.

Just a lil note ambrosia can buy a pubg server in order to make custom games so I think we can play it in a community aspect :P

We CAN. But will it be active ? Will people like to play custom games in PUBG rather than the classic game? Its way too risky IMO.

There is no such thing for pubg.. you cant "buy server".
and  be realistic guys there is no way we getting 100 players in that server anyway
expanding more to csgo is the best option atm

What about Fortnite, is there dedicated servers for it?

No, matchmaking exclusively i think

a vanilla rust server might be a good way to start tho

or even a dayz server with the beta incoming, lots of people are going to jump back on it
