As Ambrosia is moving forward, we should move on as well, trying to help the community grow in different directions. This is a discussion of what we can do as a whole. I will be posting my opinion, and everyone is free to argue and post their suggestions as well.

Now, keeping in mind we're past CS 1.6, we could have 2-3 servers, DD2 and 1-2 other fun mods we could visit from time to time, as the owners claim there is space to run a server or two, our legacy, to remember where we started from. That could mean any mod, but I would go for something Ambrosia hasn't worked on much before, like Superhero, Zombie Plague, Zombie Escape, CoD mod, Warcraft, etc.. something different than most servers, something that has lots of things in it. Superhero can support more than 20 heroes, more than 100 levels, so that's something challenging. Zombie Plague/Escape numerous maps, skins, items. Same for CoD and so on. I don't think bringing back mods like Basebuilder, Deathrun, Surf, Soccerjam etc would have any success.

However, that is just to be put aside, as it's not our main focus. My opinion is we move on to games with potential, popularity and a long-term plan.

Rust: Early Access game, open-world survival, lots of popularity, lots of potential, lots of future ahead of it, not very hard to install and run.
CS:GO: Expanding, get some more ideas, suggestions, etc. Due to the competitive mode, it is hard to attract many players in public servers. So come up with ideas to make something special. Mods, events.. It's the second most popular game atm.
Left 4 Dead 2: Still quite popular, a small server wouldn't hurt, my best guess is it would only bring a few new guys.
Arma 3: We had it before, it's still in top20 of Steam, we can go for it again, with more love this time. We do need volunteers though, people who know their shit.
ARK: Survival Evolved: Just like Rust, lots of popularity, lots of potential.

5 ideas just from the back of my head. Nothing can work out without help and volunteering though. If you do have any experience or could contribute in any way feel free to contact High Staff. If you have any opinions/ideas/suggestions, feel free to post below.

Well done Andrew.

I will join in, to say that I support this topic fully and we need new ideas and things we can do to change the way Ambrosia has always been. Lets look at a better future for all of us!

Best wishes,

Good initiative,  3 cs 1.6  would be perfect, not less and not more, i'd think about "if possible" have here awp india and zombie plague.

DD2 for the classic players
AWP for awpers who likes to play only with awp
And to conclude, zombie plague for the survival players who likes to play zombie mods

Thing about 1.6 is that, you make a server, you put a lot of work in it, you make it perfect.
Then what ? Keep boosting the server, waste shitton of money only to get 32 bots playing for an hour.
Chances that one of those "bots" is actually an english speaking player and that he stays on the server after the boost & registers on the forum is extremely low. Especially zm servers, cause they're not fun with 5 players.

I think ambrosia should have dd2 only server and a jailbreak server because jb is fun with even 5 players and it was really popular before the ddos bullshit.

I am strongly against JB. Why? Simply cause CS 1.6 is not a game of grown ups. At least not anymore. Zombie(for example) if managed right, can have many features, and yes, boosting would be a start, but you shouldn't expect to have 2-3 CS servers 24/7 full, cause that will never happen. CS is almost dead, we just want 1-2 servers to go once in a while for some fun. The last 2 years, if you keep the attack moments out, it was mostly about drama.  If you go for another fun server, you won't have to deal with kids and rule-breakers as much as you'd have with a JB server. So JB = more time to dedicate + more admins needed. Now, if everyone that would want JB back would also apply for admin, then go for it. But will you take the first step? :) Because Ambrosia has put "effort for CS" out of the question. And they're right. If we want something that might or might not work, we have to do it ourselves.

Plus, zombie was just an example, you name it, there are hundreds of mods out there,  I just don't think there's any reason we'd wanna go back for then 20th time.

You are kinda right other than the attacks the thing that killed JB server was the lack of admins. In summer before my inactivity JB was totally LIT. Even in april it was awesome. But some people created drama. Some attacked the server and some just lost motivation.
If it comes back to me i would be SO glad if JB becomes active again. And if i have time i will put a lot of effort in this server.
Andrew, You know  how much i love jailbreak mod.
Altho focusing on other games isnt a bad idea at all.
But i strongly believe That JB COULD  become active again if we find a player base, motivation, and some good admins.

Well, to answer your points Ninja, I do like JB as well(quite obvious if you consider my history here), but look at the server now. It's been up for some time now, and still is right now, even if Ed said it's off, but still empty. Plus, like I said, even if it gets full, it'll soon end up in drama and mess. I mean, it's all easy on the words for most people, but do they apply for admins? Do they help? You've seen it yourself, 5 admins struggling to keep JB running yet they get reported, offended, never appreciated. For me JB is a page that should be torn and thrown. Like I said, it had its glorious days, but CS in 2017 is not a game for grown ups, unfortunately.

Well, at least we wait for summer time, if it will be still inactive make a discion about it, its college and summer time and stuff so all inactive, keep JB even though its inactive, its easy to get it active, and you saw when it was active, we had fun.
Plus wedid apply for admins but no respone maybe because no manager or its inactive(not trying to say accept/deny me fast or smth)
Thank you

Cool !
I support this
Making 3 servers of CS 1.6  good idea as DD2 and JB let it as it is even it's inactive look at last Gather UP I made the server got about 10 or 12 players
Just JB want a person is creative and responsible  to take care of it  or manage it  old players joined last time Alberto and Swaggy Malikoo .  Soska have joined us one time  before me with navily and some players  We can invite players and play other community that I know "No need to.say the name" started a JB Server and got  alot of Jailnreakers and for example nD  JB has players and more cz they give the server a care ,  publishing it  Admins are active and  they focus on it  , See our Jailbreak Admins lester had moves to PUGB and CS:GO and lost interest in 1.6  and his last visit to forums was from 2 months ago and he didn't enter the JB Srw after changing IP  , Steve  also lost interest and also moved to PUGB , Terminator not going srw maybe cz no players or when we play he be offline  Ninja most active JB admin there .
At last about the 3rd server replace the surf with any mod
Just by making a topic and Getting players/members votes "Suggestion"
Cheers  :')

We've tried this 20 times, didn't work, won't work now either. Get over it, just because you're stuck with 1.6 doesn't mean the whole community should. Most players moved on to CS:GO and other games, so think about the community, not yourselves and which game you like fellas.

CS 1.6 is not the community's focus anymore. Get over it. If you really want JB back, get more than 20 active players per week, more than 10 admins to apply, someone experienced and mature to manage it and spend some hours every day, and make a topic. Until then, words words words.
You have to do it yourselves, cause noone is volunteering. But right here I want to make a discussion about moving on, CS 1.6 is not the focus. If you do insist about something related to CS, bring it up in another topic and get people to support it and WORK on it(and of course deal with the daily drama and complaints towards the staff).

Thank you for your contribution.

Hence the Suggestions board. I wanna move on, I made clear I don't want much babbling about CS 1.6, it's not the purpose of my topic, I respect the replies but I want my topic to be understood too. Talking about things that were talked about 50 times is not taking steps forward, I want opinions that will think about the community, not what a player wants because he doesn't like other games or his PC can't support them(don't ask me how I know that, but I do).

Your topic is understood don't worry about this side, but as you can see people always giving more attention to CS 1.6 you can't blame them it's their right to think that way and I even myself is againt expansion based on 1.6 because we already discussed this and know the reason behind.

Well andrew, im not stuck on 1.6 alone or 2 people, i think alot of people do, i support that we add new mods and servers and games here but why removing jb.. it wont affect anything, plus we really need admins in JB not just 10 or 11, we need at least 20 just in case the inactivity, in other servers when i join there is like at least 2 or 3 admins in the same server, and we need a good manager that can handle all of this, we need to upgrade so much in the JB server, it can be the first one day in all JBs like in the past (i think)

CS1.6 JB WILL NEVER WORK
Coming from a player who the only reason he  joined ambrosia was jailbreak. I don't see the server going any further, it needs a lot of work and maintenance  and it only need one guy who have nothing else to do with his life to ruin the game for everyone and we go back in the same exact cycle we had since I joined the community.
The same goes for any other 1.6 server.
L4D2 wont work either.
Left 4 dead  is a nice game where you can play with 1-3 players but the big problem about this game is that no one seem interested on spending time on, sure it might work for couple of weeks  with people from ambrosia inviting each other to try it out but I don't see it surviving longer than a month.
Arma rust and ark(specially ark)
are too much of a change where you can't just expect 1.6 community to take, the servers will be dead since day one if you don't work hard everyday and advertise it, and getting a team who can work in the server is too much of a hassle.
I would say jb have a stronger chance of working over these 3 games (still dont believe jb should be added)

In the other hand
Cs go is the only game that I don't see failing, expanding to more servers will give the community a boost of players then we can think about the other games.
I want to see cs go jailbreak again I don't think it is going to work easily but giving the success bhop and surf has I would give it another chance, seeing ambrosia without a jailbreak server is not usual to me. :/

The other game I want to see and believe is going to happen again is minecraft I had a lot of fun on it It might not be the best minecraft server or anywhere near that level but playing minecraft was fun everyone who played in the server remember.

You are quite right on a point. Drama. But i need to ask a question. Why the hell in 1 year the activity of CS 1.6 decreased so much? In fact in 7 months or so. I just wanna know what the hell happened ( other than DDOS and attacks.)
But yeah most people think being admin is easy and they start acting like drama queens. You are totally right on dis one.

As I have seen, most fellas here have moved on to CS:GO. I guess the attacks were the cherry on the top of the cake, it was about time they did it, so they decided to do it now. And thanks for understanding my point. I never said "don't bring back JB", I cannot take such a decision, I simply said "they SHOULDN'T", because it would be a waste of Ed's time and patience and not only his. We have tried it so many times, but sooner or later we have to MOVE ON. I LOVE JB, but all it would bring now is drama, abuses, reports. I said, find the people for it, and like Ed said, go for it, but words do not build a house, hands do.

The server is still open, yet you fellas here want "JB back". There it is, you want to make a change, JOIN IT. But noone has time and patience to dedicate to it anymore. So we move on, find games with more potential.

@Amine, thank you for your feedback, I agree with you on most points, and on Minecraft as well, just that the examples I gave were simply easy methods to bring in some fresh blood. 1-2 L4D2 servers of 4 people each are quite light, yet could bring a few L4D2 players. Same with Rust, which is source based, just like CS:S, so the difference is not that big, and still, we are based on CS 1.6, but overall we're a gaming community, so if we see potential we gotta go for it, and Rust and ARK are 2 games with big success, and Rust is still being worked with a very good and dedicated Dev team. I have no experience on ARK though, I was hoping anyone else did. But of course I could be seeing things wrong, it's always the point of view.

Anyway, the examples I gave were simply ones easy to implement, I am not saying we should go with whatever I say. Speak your mind, is there any other game you think has a lot of potential? Talk about it, just like Amine said about Minecraft.

Regards.
