[div class="information" style="color: #ABABAB;font-size: 13px;background: #1F1F1F;"]
Greetings Ambrosians,
It's been more than a year now that we changed and updated ambrosia's look, and since then we've been looking into how we could go further, and make the forum more user-friendly, which is why we've been working on some major changes for quiet sometime now, in hopes of improving things, and this topic will be addressing the changes and the new updates, we only wish you guys like these changes and welcome them, however as usual all opinion & critics are welcome as long as they're constructive.
[/div][div class="information" style="color: #ABABAB;text-align: justify;font-size: 13px;background: #1F1F1F;"]
[fa]comments[/fa] New Forum Theme & Changes[/color][/font]

Well the first and most important change is the new Forum Theme, we're so happy to finally publish it and hope everyone will like it, the previous one wasn't so bad however it was never really what we hoped for, in some ways it was complex for new members, it had some serious bugs, was kind of too graphical and was slow due to a lot of used images especially the slideshow which after a long time turned out not to be so useful, which is why we have decided to work on a brand new theme where we fixed many bugs and issues of the previous one, this theme has a much more simple and attractive design, and it is certainly more user-friendly. The work has been going on for some months trying to do things right and as good as possible, working on every little possible detail, and most importantly we've been focusing on the mobile version, a lot of work has been done into it, however there are still some issues due to the diversity of the mobile devices, and that is where we need your help, by checking the forum through your phones and reporting bugs you contribute big time to the improvement of the site.
 [div style="float:right;"][/div]

But honestly, I've been using the mobile version for a long time now, especially when I was inactive and unable to connect using my PC which actually helped us note things that had to be improved, so there shouldn't be a big problem with the mobile version, many pages are very well responsive and easy to browse.

As for the subforums or as some might call "forum split", well that's been removed, it was not done right from the beginning which is why it did not serve the purpose it was intended for, but instead it was just a problem especially to new members who didn't know their way around the forums, we added instead tabs to the board index, where basically you can select game boards/categories to view, it's an instant switch, a lot more simple and less problematic way of splitting game content, we'll see how it goes and if it doesn't get members confused. The removal of the subforums also means the removal of the discoloration, it once had a purpose when the Arma project was ongoing, however it became a bug and not a feature after the discontinuation of Arma, it lost its purpose, and only made things more complicated. Maybe it will be back when and if needed.

That's about it for the forum changes, there still will be more updates and improvements, especially once the 2.1 version of SMF is stable and released.
Do not forget to report any issues/bugs you encounter when browsing the forum, we really appreciate it.

[fa]desktop[/fa] The Portal[/color][/font]

Yet again another portal update heh ? well this update goes with the forum update, we've come to realise that many new comers find themselves lost in the portal which doesn't really have much content as to guide them in certain things such as unban requests, I know the content isn't much different than the previous ones anyway but still, we also preferred to change due to the fact that some other communities have copied the portal, not saying that they won't copy this one as well because we also expect that, the previous portal(s) also received a lot of critics concerning the music, the new portal doesn't have that, it's a simple one, no background slideshow, although the background does change after every load but it's better, there's really not much to say about it, it's considered to be a special page for guests & not members, however we tried to make it for both.
As always if you notice any bugs or issues, feel free to report it
[/div][div class="information" style="color: #ABABAB;font-size: 13px;background: #1F1F1F;"]
[fa]ban[/fa] The Banlists[/color][/font]

The ban lists are one of the most important pages in the website, since the start it seemed such a pain to always have to design every single one and try to match it to the forum design that we didn't really do it right since it was a pain, in this update however we decided to try the SMF integrations, we have for now as a start integrated the CS 1.6 Ban List into the forum, that way we do not have to worry about the non-unified designs, it looks more neat and nice this way, we also made sure not to affect the update process of the software, however it's more tricky when it comes to CS:GO and Minecraft Ban Lists, which is why the work is still in progress, we will hopefully finish soon.

Also one more small detail I can't help myself with, but the new online button looks too sharp on the edges and straight outta'  ms paint.

I'm all for flat design, but it looks a bit off to me on that one.
Could you maybe try playing a bit with CSS3 gradient background, maybe put some border to it?  I played around with chrome developer tools a bit and I think it looks better in comparison to the current one.
Really a matter of minutes

OriginalExample 1Example 2

^ Also interesting glitch here, table seems to devour my text below, despite the fact it's closed with
Code: [Select]
[/td][/tr][/table]

Anyways,  think they look a tiny bit better. I used these two code changes:

Example 1
Code: [Select]
border: 2px solid #131313;
background: #9dd53a; /* Old browsers */
background: -moz-linear-gradient(-45deg, #9dd53a 0%, #a1d54f 50%, #80c217 51%, #7cbc0a 100%); /* FF3.6-15 */
background: -webkit-linear-gradient(-45deg, #9dd53a 0%,#a1d54f 50%,#80c217 51%,#7cbc0a 100%); /* Chrome10-25,Safari5.1-6 */
background: linear-gradient(135deg, #9dd53a 0%,#a1d54f 50%,#80c217 51%,#7cbc0a 100%); /* W3C, IE10+, FF16+, Chrome26+, Opera12+, Safari7+ */
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#9dd53a', endColorstr='#7cbc0a',GradientType=1 ); /* IE6-9 fallback on horizontal gradient */

Example 2
Code: [Select]
background: #f8ffe8; /* Old browsers */
background: -moz-linear-gradient(45deg, #f8ffe8 0%, #e3f5ab 33%, #b7df2d 100%); /* FF3.6-15 */
background: -webkit-linear-gradient(45deg, #f8ffe8 0%,#e3f5ab 33%,#b7df2d 100%); /* Chrome10-25,Safari5.1-6 */
background: linear-gradient(45deg, #f8ffe8 0%,#e3f5ab 33%,#b7df2d 100%); /* W3C, IE10+, FF16+, Chrome26+, Opera12+, Safari7+ */
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#f8ffe8', endColorstr='#b7df2d',GradientType=1 ); /* IE6-9 fallback on horizontal gradient */
border: 2px solid black;

Both of these were generated by the colorzilla css3 gradient background generator tool. Just my two cents :)
Don't take this as a knock-on, I like the new forum update overall, just a small detail I would like to be improved on :)

EDIT: Also one more small glitch, sometimes when you click on the text-input box the background goes dark (reproducable by clicking on the text-input box by the first time) out of nowhere and sometimes the text scrolls out of the box (for no explicable reason). Didn't try reproducing it and only tested it on Chrome, but just letting you know :)

Not gonna lie that second gradient does look much better, I tried to stay away from using gradient backgrounds as I wanted things to be simple and nice,
but I believe that one can have a gradient background since it looks a lot more fancy, although I'de change the colors a bit to a better green:

Thank you for the suggestion,
As for the table glitch, well it's actually your mistake  :D , Check your bbcode again this is what you have
Code: [Select]
[table]

if you correct it you see no glitch

hmm, that is weird I have not experienced that before, unless you're talking about the simple focus effect?
kinda hard to try fixing it if I can't see it, does it happen too many times?

Thank you everyone for the feedbacks.  :)

Other than that, good job.

To be fair, this is what I wanted from the start, but we couldn't communicate it out to understand what exactly I meant. What was done clearly wasn't good enough, but also Sycho was inactive and it complicated things a little bit. I do love this though, so much better, I am sure you agree.
