How to be a "Decent" Commander
« on: June 30, 2017, 01:25:07 am »
Well as the title says this post is for teaching how to be a "decent" Commander. I know that people think that im not well placed to make such a thread because they may think i'm not a good commander. But well at least i am decent. If you think you are a good commander then i suggest you not to read this post because it will waste your time. But if you wanna help me and the others out there who are "bad" at commanding you can always read and add any idea that i missed/ mis explained / wrong.   Anyway. Lets get started.

In jailbreak mod, and especially in Prisonbreak, There is no rules what a commander should do. The only thing that matters here is that he does not freekill, and does not make the atmosphere non enjoyable. Which means calling a cage day and spend this day with first and last reaction is definitely a bad idea.
And always remember When you wanna do map games, you must be 100% focused. Sometimes a single blink will ruin your day. Be careful!
Now, a good commander should have creativity in mind. In my opinion, no human is without creativity. Well at the beginning of the day you can just call a day depending on the first thought that comes to your mind. For example you are a guy who has a job in the army. You came back from work tired and want to chill playing Pb, well call the day an army day and make those inmates get a little taste of what you had to go through today. Its kinda original and both sides will enjoy it. ( Inmates im not 100% sure they will but... whatever.)
Now you are commanding and a prisoner decides to rebel. Since in Pb inmates have mic access ( which is awesome) the guy who escape will try to ruin your day. What to do? Kill yourself. Of course not. Do not let anything ruin your day. Tell the other wardens to go find this motherf*cker or even better go find him yourself. Lets say u didnt find him and want to continue the day. Bribe any prisoner to help u find this guy. Few are the prisonners who will prefer "teamwork" over gold. Or even better bribe a present admin to slay this scrub.
In all jailbreak servers there are 3 kinds of prisoners :
- The passive guys : they are the less guys u need to worry bout. They usually enjoy the commander's games and just stick to your rules.
-The fake passive guys (this part is a bit confusing) : This kind is also divided by two kinds : one of them is they enjoy playing your games ( or at least makes u think so) But if an opportunity strikes they wont hesitate to take it and rebel/escape. The other kind is the one who plays your games ,wether he likes them or not, only to try to get LastRequest and make u pay for what u did to them.
P.S : the first kind is the one u need to worry the most about.
-The rebeller : This kind  of inmates are really tough to handle, for a beginner. Yes, they are the kind of guys who rebel at the beginning of the round and their purpose is non other than ruining your day. But once you know who they are u can take them out more easily with the help of the other wardens.

Now as expected you cannot be warden in every map. You will have to play as an inmate at some point. And its up to you to decide what kind of inmate you will be. But as an inmate you surely can learn from other wardens. Their games , their way of handling, could be learnt through being an inmate. Even better you can find what every warden lacks of and you can complete them in order to be as good as possible. You can modify their games so they will be more fun. A normal Q&A or as you like to call it trivia could be more fun if for example the first guy to answer the question would not participate in a hard and deadly game. This idea will push all inmates to try to be the first to answer correctly. But careful the ones who couldnt answer first would try to rebel you must be aware of that.
Creating games is something personal though. And cannot be told on a post. Creating games is acquired through playing.

Now stating the first day as a freeday is not a bad idea at all. Especially if u are new TO THE SERVER. Having the first day as freeday helps you know which inmates are rebeller, passive and fake passive.

In prisonbreak you can't trust anyone. Not even yourself. Because when you get bribed You will do anything for gold. Yes you are a freaking greedy motherf*cker, a gold digger. Even the skippers will do almost anything for gold. They have somewhere to spend there money.( Gangs/fees etc...)

Now last but not least, Freekilling.
Freekilling is usually a bad idea because when u freekill the passive guys transforms directly to rebellers. And trust me You don't wanna have 10+ rebellers to take out. Even worse freekilling can get you ctbanned which means no more commanding and no more use of reading this post. But sometimes freekilling ONCE and 1 player is not a bad idea. It helps the inmates understand who is the motherf*cking boss here, who is the one who makes rules. Frightened to get freekilled they will mostly obey almost all of your commands. But remember overdoing it in any case, any action, and any decision is always a bad idea. Especially in Prisonbreak.

Now if you feel confident go out there in our prisonbreak server and show them who makes the rules out there. But remember, DO NOT overdo it in any circumstance.
Cheers.

A topic made by someone in aW, a clan/gang known for their terrible commanding.

EDIT: Actually read it, few good points and well written.
A lesson for me, read before criticizing..

You may be right at some point. Giving games... But giving games ON A POST will only make it even longer to read and like you said better give games in game. Will edit the post soon. Thanks.

Read this topic when it came out but was lazy to post the obvious tbh :D Good guide, very helpful, does explain some basics for the new ones.
