Valve's new anti cheat system
« on: February 25, 2017, 06:07:08 pm »
So Valve recently announced that they've started using a new "Anti-Cheat" system..
Pretty much given up on VAC.
Valve started using an A.I that will learn and ban cheaters by reviewing every single demo of every single match.
http://www.pcgamer.com/valve-wants-to-take-a-machine-learning-approach-to-counter-strike-anti-cheat/

This means that Spin botters will obviously get banned right away as the A.I must know if this person if spinning constantly they're cheating, but this leaves a massive hole.
People who use AFK script might also get banned for cheating and not griefing, good players with fast reaction time or playing purely based on good game sense and sound might suffer from this, cheaters who hide their cheats by not prefiring will surpass the A.I, what do you guys think?
Personally I've seen it being effective as in Emirates servers right now since the implant of this I've only played against TWO cheaters in a week which both of them got "Account has been convicted" mid game.
BUT, this will only stop cheaters in Official MM Servers.
So this shows that valve doesn't really care about other tournament hosters but mostly about majors as during majors they will be playing on official valve servers.

Good step forward though even if this would only stop cheaters in official MM servers it's still appreciated.

idk about MM, but Casual mode is full of hackers. i stop playing CSGO coz of this

anti-cheats programs are always crap. smart and pro hackers will evade it, and good players will be banned by mistake......  :-[

thats normal, casual will always be full of cheaters, play MM prime if you don't want to matchup against cheats. Prime is mostly cheat-free

You haven't played on any arab servers, have you?
idk what do they do.. they spend oil money on csgo or what and dont care about getting banned or just plain dumb hacking kids
still, prime has reduced the number of hackers

I hardly believe an AI agent can actually make the right calls and having the ban hammer right away. A better option is to keep the AI agent as a tool to decide if someone is cheating or not, but it must retain the human judgement.

Few years ago in 2008, Alias Modders were partnered to make an AI anticheat for a community using an AI implementation for aimbot, but it was very experimental.
