jail_casper_v1 song removal - Tutorial
« on: December 16, 2015, 03:56:50 pm »
Here's a quick tutorial how to remove the song on jail_casper_v1 that starts to play automatically in the beginning of the round when you're a CT. It gets quite annoying and deleting the original file will not help as the server will automatically replace the missing file.
One option you can do, is to replace the song with your own song, but just renaming your own song to the one that came with the map.
Another option is to simply corrupt the song file itself, making it unable to play, but still keeping the file.
By doing the last option, you won't be able to play the song in the game later on, for example when you want to do a dance competition on that map or whatever.

Step 1
Exit your CS if it's currently running

Step 2
Go to your CS files. Your file thread should look something like this

Step 3
Right click on the "party" song and choose "open with" -> "Choose another app"

Step 4
Next up select notepad and press OK. DO NOT select "Always choose this app to open .waw files". If you can't find notepad in your list, just click "see more options" and you will find it there.

Step 5
It may take a little bit of time for the file to open, since it is an audio file after all, not your essay.
Now select a random portion of text and delete it. Hit save and exit the file.

Step 6
Next up open a folder in the same file thread called "tekno" and do the exact same with the file "music1"

Step 7
Open it in notepad. This time you should already have it available in the quick open menu.

Step 8
Again, select a random portion of text and delete it. Save and exit.

Voila, you are done!

That's a nice workaround. I wish I have thought of this earlier. Nice job!

Or, create an empty file and name it as music1.wav and music2.wav
I guess it will be the same.

Problem is, that you gotta write stopsound every round then
And to create an empty file, you gotta name the file + extension to the same, going through the folder settings and changing the file end to .waw or .mp3. So basically, you're gonna go through the same amount of trouble as just corrupting the file

Guys stop being dickheads. We all know this is way better than binding a key to stopsound and pressing that button every fucking time the music starts. Give him credit where is due and don't be ass wholes. Have fun!
