Reporting Viper
« on: November 20, 2015, 06:20:27 pm »
Admin: @[TelecoM]. v!pe(R).

Server: Dust2

Date & Time: 20-11-2015 @ 18:00 GMT

Complaint: Disrespecting several parts of the administration policy.

He started by imposing a game style by telling us to go A only while he doesn't really have the right to do that. We are free to go A or B and that's none of his business whether we choose to go A or B but he still decided to show his superiority and to impose his game style.

After that, he banned Cowboy permanently because of a ban that dates from 2013. We can perfectly see that he failed to use his common sense and that he is an incompetent administrator as he didn't take the time to make a full analysis of the situation before taking an action.

Active Bans

10.07.2013    cowboy from hell    Not Available    ReveX|Grmbl    wh+aim    Permanent

Expired Bans

08.08.2015    Cowboy    STEAM_0:1:84856859    BucKK | QC    insulting in arabic    30 Minutes
30.06.2015    Cowboy    STEAM_0:1:84856859    RR | Ultor       Permanent
22.11.2014    Cowboy    STEAM_0:0:1873493672    taha    Cheater    Permanent

In addition to the reasons stated above, he also took the decision to issue a ban on me because I apparently provoked him when I said that I was going to report him. I don't really know if this can be considered as a provocation or not but he still failed to issue a warning. He didn't bother to warn or to kick me but he decided to ban me immediately for the period of 1 hour (not even 10 min). We can see that this administrator is not incompetent only but that he is impatient as well. Let's not forget that the administration policy states clearly that administrators are supposed to issue warnings, then kicks and if these warnings and kicks are disrespected, then they should issue other punishments like bans.

I don't believe that I have anything else to add in my report as all of these events occurred in less than 10 minutes. If you fail to comprehend a part of my report, feel free to ask a question. Keep in mind that this is a report and not an unban request.

He had right to ban cowboy because he thought he was evading. He cannot see his IP through AMXBans only me and panelists can + He asked cowboy if he is ban evading, cowboy said yes.

About your part, he is allowed to tell you to go A only if the server is low on player count I think - It happens in public too

But you two were provoking I mean come on :D

I'm not saying that he didn't have the right to make a mistake by banning Cowboy but come on, there are some bans issued on Cowboy's current Steam ID that expired after the permanent ban so he was supposed to understand that Cowboy wasn't the guy who was banned in 2013. Therefore, he didn't need to check IPs in order to conclude whether Cowboy was banevading or not.

Moreover, he isn't allowed to tell us to go A only. I basically saw a post from the current Public and Dust2 managers somewhere in this forum in which they clearly stated that administrators weren't allowed to impose this kind of game styles.

And what about the part in which he bans me? No warning, no kick, do you find that normal?

I would only find the ban a little too much, without a warning or a kick or smth, but that's not even a reason to issue a warning.

No bud, Cowboy's steamid bans were Active and still are, I just removed his ID from the bans and kept them IP banned.

Yes he is allowed to lock a site if the server is low on playerbase so that rounds don't delay too much.

About your ban, he shouldn't have instantly banned you no, a warning would've been fine.

hi there., lets notice the following:

1- you are not a DD2 player, so you cant make a judgment from 1 show just like this -.-
2- when DD2 start to be empty me and all other admins says "A only" looking to the large map.
3- you should respect the admin decision even if he was wrong, so u simply got slayed in B.
4- you are used to make problems with ambrosia servers administration At every opportunity bcoz u have 1 base in ur mind " im older than him in ambrosia" so thats totaly wrong think.
5- about "cowboy" i asked him if he evad a ban "bcoz i saw 2 active bans in the ban list" he said yes " i change my IP" he took it by joke and mockery -.- , so i did my job "cant know if he is the real one or not ", and its not your business ever and not my fault too.
6- engrave this in ur mind "perfection is for God only"

Yes he is allowed to lock a site if the server is low on playerbase so that rounds don't delay too much.

Are you sure about that?

Okay, I've made my research. There is no rule that states you cannot lock a site, and there's no rule that states he can ban you or threat to ban you if you don't abide to that.

Still think a ban was too much; however, lets see what @X-KilleR  & @presto have to say about locking the sites.

PS: You guys were provoking I read the logs..

1- you are not a DD2 player, so you cant make a judgment from 1 show just like this -.-

=> I'm not a Dust2 regular player but I still own the right to express myself and to judge your work.

2- when DD2 start to be empty me and all other admins says "A only" looking to the large map.

=> So you are following the herd, right? How about you clarify us regarding the situation @presto because I'm pretty sure that you said somewhere in this forum that administrators weren't allowed to restrict a site since both sites are part of the game.

3- you should respect the admin decision even if he was wrong, so u simply got slayed in B.

=> I didn't respect your decision because it was unjustified in eyes and it still is but instead of communicating or letting me know that I was probably wrong, you took the decision to slay me. You could have simply issued a warning but since you are an administrator, you automatically believe that everything you do is right. That's not because nobody may have reported you so far that you are doing a great job while administrating the server, just saying.

4- you are used to make problems with ambrosia servers administration At every opportunity bcoz u have 1 base in ur mind " im older than him in ambrosia" so thats totaly wrong think.

=> I was using an other nick so why are you making retarded links? And why are you attacking me instead of defending yourself? Anyway, could you please tell me when the hell did I cause a problem to any of the ambrosian administrators? I might have expressed myself like I'm doing in this thread but this doesn't mean that I have caused a problem to anyone so cut the crap already.

Anyway, why didn't you bother to express yourself regarding the unfair ban that you issued on me? Why don't you try to explain the reason that pushed you to issue a ban instead of abiding to the administration policy and issuing a warning or a kick instead?

As far as I know, I only said that I was going to report you so why are you victimizing yourself so bad? Why can't you take criticism?

Hello there, I don't know why people keep reporting him for such reasons, but whenever I play with him I see everyday provocations toward him from other players, for example when he says "A only" which is normally natural if the server only contained 8 players maximum some people always complain about this and start to provoke and threaten him for a report without mentioning the ones who go directly for insults and all, in my eyes he didn't anything wrong since we DD2 admins always face such provocation and threatening toward us, I'm not against @ReFresh just stating my point of view, but I'd leave this for @presto or @X-KilleR as well since they're the main responsible of DD2.

Can someone link this guy the administration policy topic, please? Can't you see that he still didn't understand that administrators are supposed to warn, kick and then ban?

EDIT:

My two cents.

@Just DOT, clearly you have broken the rules here which you have admitted to so I'll leave that in the hands of the ban/unban committee. @SnipeR iNsiDe was correct to follow procedure and carry out the necessary punishment. Maybe the fashion in which he done it was distasteful for you @Just DOT, but he was still within his rights.

Outside of this situation, one thing that does bother me is the t_say chats as per screen shots. I don't know the exact situation, who was playing, or in what context it was meant to be used in such as humour, but I don't want to see any Admin t_say'ing with words like "GO PLANT LOSER" or "A ONLY NABS". I don't need or want to know why it was said but it doesn't look good and it isn't correct.

Yes, inject some fun in to the server but not like that. If a team/player is taking particularly longer than they should, be patient. There is a timer on the round for a reason and that does the job just fine. Admin's do not have the privilege of a personal timer that makes the game play at their pace. The pace of the game plays at the pace of the server, it's a simple as that.

Admin's also have no right to set instructions such as 'A/B Only'. It doesn't matter how many people are on the server, suggesting only one bomb site is playable is an unwritten rule and if players don't want to do that, they simply don't have to.

I won't be dishing out any particular warnings but let this be an example to everyone. I want my Admin's to stay grounded and not try to control the game too much. Remember your role, your responsibilities, but also remember that you are also a player and just enjoy the flow of the game, stop trying to force it down peoples throats because it doesn't work.

Have fun, that is far more important.

You were previously warned for the same offense I believe. I didn't know presto has restricted admins for blocking A/B sites.

Since you were already reported for that, and presto has clearly stated you are not supposed to do that.

Viper you will face suspension - The time however will be stated in the topic by presto.

+ Logs show you have threatened people in the past for going only A/B

you cannot (fast) judge this case without asking at least server managers me and presto, especially when the report is just from today !

-Refresh and cowboy from logs you were provoking for sure, you were guys admin here you are supposed to help the team not to act against them !
-Cowboy ,yes he has the right to ban you,you are in banlist, you could just make an unban request ,as other admins do
-Viper misunderstand the A/b thing, it is not a rule in dd2, it is just when the server is empty, we agree players to play only A or B for fun ,(just like when we agree to play knife only but it is not a rule )but if the guy plant "b" we will not blame him or take an action against him, maybe you misunderstand it

So for the suspension imo it is too harsh for an active and respectful admin like viper as he is doing a great job in dd2 especially these days with low activity from many admins, we forgive cheaters ,we forgive bad attitudes ,we can forgive a minor mistake like this

PS: do not provoke any admin in dd2 again, and i ask dd2 admins to take the right actions against any provocation/laming/swearing in the server following ambrosia rules

I still gave a decision depending on what the logs proved not what this case has shown either :)

Discuss this with presto privately.
