What then if a wanna-be thug kid is going to come and DDoS ambrosia's dedibox? What kinda protection do you guys have? Are you guys using a ddos protected proxy, or does your host have DDoS protected firewall, example. CISCO etc.
This is very tricky question, one that anybody who's in charge of anything doesn't really like to answer. Let me explain why.
I am not gonna name anything due to security reasons.
If you have any technical experience, you probably know it's impossible to completely deny DDoS attack. The furthest DDoS prevention technology has come is Mitigation. We're equipped with multiple DDoS protections and I'd like to believe we're secure from some random ddos attacks, although if it was an organized botnet, I'm pretty sure the servers would go offline immediately (just like in any other company that would get hit by DDoS) - I mean even the giants, like national banks have fallen victims to DDoS attacks and they have security measures worth more than probably wage of 50 people combined, so it would be very optimistic for me to say we're secure... all I can say is, secure enough not to get hunted down by somebody and to keep the community alive... Secured to best of our ability.
I know it sounds bad for members to read such reply, but that is the objective truth and sadly currently DDoS attacks are a very lethal way of e-bullying on internet and while it is illegal crime, there's very little you can currently do to be 100% secure from DDoS attacks. That's the harsh truth.
