Here we go again.. I wish people that were ignorant regarding a matter would atleast attempt to inform themselves before criticizing people or slandering them with silly comments. I understand you may not like the same kind of stuff and that's understandable but most of your comments seem to stem from the fact that you're badly informed. Anyway back to topic.
An anime section wouldn't affect the majority of the community, let alone destroy it. I don't understand how you come to this conclusion either.
A section would simply feature all contents related to anime, mangas, light novels, visual novels, ... in one section since right now it has no place to go at. I've seen many forums that run just fine with anime sections or forums mostly related to anime and have civilized discussions and more mature users than there are here.
As to what would be discussed, it would be the plot of a story, the characters, what you think will happen next and so on, just like you would discuss a movie or a series really. In the end, it's not all that different except from the fact that one features real actors and the other features animations. You can do good stories with animation too and I don't see why just because it's an animation, it's aimed towards kids? There's plenty of movies with supernatural effects, what about them?
On top of that, as said prior, there are different demographics related to different anime & mangas. Several are aimed towards adults, like josei and seinen and then there are those that generally are aimed towards the younger audience and albeit those are more frequent, I see enough variation of everything so that anyone interested can find something that he would enjoy.
Plus there's nothing really wrong with liking something childish even if it was and it certainly doesn't describe your maturity in the least. What's wrong with still being a child at heart?
I don't think the section is necessarily required in a gaming community honestly but it's always good to have variation, sections for games, movies, series & other things are generally in my opinion a good addition, hence why I'd support this section.
I don't see Anime as a bigger section. Same shit as prefering Thriller. (You have thriller, tv show, thriller movies etc.)
Thriller is a genre of movies/tv shows. A good comparison would be saying people prefer "Shounen" anime then since this too is a genre of Anime. Of course Koray's only asking for one section, not for a subsection for every genre of anime. That would be a tad too much
Why not post those topics in the movies section since anime is a quasi-movie show.
Though here, have my support as much as I hate anime but dig shiro's yaoi hentai.
I wouldn't mix both together personally.
Also regardless of whether you approve of the suggestion or not, discuss in a civilized manner please. Post your opinion without necessarily criticizing other people. That would be nice.
