Here's some fun facts for you guys dreaming about the glorious days of CS 1.6:
-5 years ago the average Steam CS player count(per month) was about 50.000. Back in 2012 we can say most players were non-steamers, so I'll add 75% of those, so 50.000 + 87.500 = 137.500 players/month. The "glorious" years of Ambrosia.
-Currently, ending of 2017, there are about 20.000 players/month. Now due to sales and people getting more familiar with the extremely popular Steam many moved on to steam CS, so if the Steamed players were cut more than half those 5 years, I'll do the same for non-steamers, about 40.000. So 20.000 + 40.000 = 60.000 players/month.
-Now that we've done the basics, let's go deeper. From those amounts, cut -20% that doesn't know Ambrosia for various reasons(not gonna spend my time writing them), cut -30% for non-english speaking players(this goes only for jb), and cut -25% more for the ones that don't like/play jb(this goes only for jb too, obviously) and a small percentage(10-15%) of players that play CS an hour per week, just for the sake of old days.
-For JB, you have about 10.000 eligible players. You must consider though that there are more than 50 JB servers out there, so about 200 players on average. Try get all those 200 jb players in the same community(Ambrosia), same month, same week, and get the server full. You can't.
-On a more general basis, if we slightly change the percentages you can get about 20.000 general CS players eligible for Ambrosia, but there are about 2000 servers with similar characteristics(public, dd2, surf, etc..). That means about 10 players per server, but mark this, per month!, not per hour/day. Some servers are not boosted, hence empty, so our dd2 gets more than 10, and mostly bots, which are not considered players.
-And of course for the ones that will claim "hey, we have 120 people joining the forum almost daily", not even half of them play CS anymore.
Don't expect the amounts to be precise, I did this in 5 minutes.
Long story short, I love your courage guys, I wanna help too, and I'm free almost whenever you invite me, but CS 1.6 is almost dead, you can try get players in any server and it could work for 1,2,3, maybe even 4 days, but that's it. Getting players in DD2 is easier than JB and look, if you don't boost it for just 2 days, it gets empty.
My opinion, like I said, keep 1-2 CS servers to remember where we came from, but move on. There are thousands of games, we could easily invest, and make Ambrosia bigger again. I'm on CS's side, but we gotta make some steps before it's too late and everyone leaves.
Regards.

I tried to join it when it had 8 players it kept loading for 30 minutes literally and then lost hope, That connection was 150mbps let's imagine how long the majority of cs 1.6 2mbps guys waited to join :-X

When I got my first pc (that was around 2008+) you had the luxury to play COD MW1 (i didnt as my pc wasnt as good). No dedicated GPU or whatsoever, and what games run on a 2.4GHz CPU with integrated GPU? CS 1.6 is one of them.
Now there are other standards. With the same money I bought my pc back then, nowdays you can buy a decent PC with a dedicated GPU. More power means better graphics, better graphics means better games, better games means more players.
CS 1.6 isnt one of those better games anymore. What you could play on a $500 PC back than can be played on a $200 smartphone nowdays.
When people get their first PC nowdays they dont have the same standard games as we did before. Maybe I would choose 1.6 over battlefield because I know what 1.6 feels like, but someone never playing 1.6 before would choose battlefield (and that "someone" is around +90% of people who have a computer and use it for gaming).
+People want new things, no matter how many mods u introduce to 1.6, it wont regain even a fraction of its popularity, and unfortunately its name may not even be recognised in the future.
TL;DR
There are other standards nowdays. Better PCs and better games.
Thats what people want, new, better things.
What i said above has been said before, i am saying it now, and someone else ia going to say it in the future.
I really hope i am wrong in this case, I really hope JB gets back as i really miss it. And I am looking forward to seeing the server active again. I am happy that DD2 has some activity, and I hope that 1.6 never truly dies.

Looks like we need to unban mumu so everything will be alive again. :D

exacly this post is already alive
-
But how can ppl revive it again ppl need to start playing not every day but if a group of ppl stays in the server like 5 more ppl will join but for that day but the problem is next day no one will join cause there is no one playing thats the problem ppl want to play it but since no one is on the server they also wont join.
Since if tested this after i joined 6 mins and i already had 2 players joined you just need to take the lead and others will follow cause if i was unbanned ppl would still be playing

How have you been recently? I mean if you're seeking for unban what has changed in you? :)

JB server is never dead, its just most players here studying in college/school (studying time if u dont know) no problem for makeing it active again, last time i invited two friends of mine and inited 4 or 5 from steam and after 10min we had like 10players playing
So change ur mind abt you makeing it active
Make unban request and make it active to prove...
With my respect

Why not? if you have really learned the lesson and you think that you have changed and ready to start a new page again with everyone, I would be the first one to support your unban request believe me.

If you feel like you deserve a 2nd chance to get unbanned no one can take that from you especially when you think you're ready.

Andrew has a point, cs 1.6 is currently one of those games stuck in limbo like teamfortress 2 and counter strike source. The 2010's players namely what ambrosia was associated migrated in other hype games like dota, csgo, pubg and what other mobas and survival and shooters are on the market.
I could have used the term glory days as a juvenile denominator when the platform of hype games that thrived on peers and esport popularity was getting started with fps's. Then again counter argument is that nD is still kept a float somehow, so there is relation to mysterious factor why it works for them but not for us. It's a very natural thing to assume effects and transitions from structure and hierarchy but such as scale by completely removing the old guys from the seats maybe had something to do with it.
But to justify this term, i can only say that the first 2 years after ambrosia's creation were pretty good in regards of buildup. It wasn't out of the question that it's gonna be a slippery slope after younger players outgrow the marketing ploys of ambrosia for their dedication and choice, but it happened.

There are still players around. Not many, but there are. nD manages to get more. We have boosting, they have boosting, some old and good staff and members, events, and although they have many CS 1.6 servers they do try to expand as much as possible, a thing that I've always suggested we do first. Last but not least, although they do have some advantages, their CS 1.6 activity has decreased as well. I do keep track of nD and if you pay attention it's mostly JB and SurfGG keeping them up. They do try to expand though to CS:GO and others, one step at a time.
Like I said, rival communities(the ones that are left at least) try and take slow steps forward, moving on. I keep saying we need some initiatives and be the first ones to do those moves, nothing's gonna make 500 CS 1.6 players come back. Get over it fellas.

it was active before constant dc's from attacker
many lost interest joining due to crashs from attacks
and completely deserted the server
