What happened to Ambrosia?
« on: January 27, 2022, 11:50:14 AM »
Hi guys, I used to play a lot in Ambrosia's servers years ago, I played mostly basebuilder and zombie escape, until I just stopped playing CS at all. Next thing I know when restart playing it is that Ambrosia was gone, what happened there? When did the community close?

Just as you, a lot of people stopped playing CS.

People grew older, they have more responsibilities, less time for games + CS 1.6 has barely any player base at all right now.

The ones who still play transitioned to other games like CS:GO, where getting a solid player base in the servers that registers in forums is basically very difficult.

You combine this with the current popularity of Discord, community forums are not a thing.

TL;DR. the previous members grew older and are barely playing anymore (including me), CS 1.6 is dead, community forums are no longer attractive.

We never stop thinking about something we could possibly do to keep the community going, but as refresh said quite well, communities, especially CS focused, are not a thing anymore. Currently the forum is running mostly as a form of respect to all the years of history and bonding that took place in here.

There is no definitive future for the servers, but we know for sure the forum is not going anywhere.

It's not even about CS, gaming communities in general have died out.

These forum type places are obsolete in the eyes of the populace, everything just got kind of swallowed by reddit and discord communities.
It's the way of the world.

Very true Frank.

Gone are the days of Ambrosia AssasS*N being the number 1 CS 1.6 Server in the world. Though there may be a chance to revive it still, perhaps with a different series of games.

Gone are the days of CS 1.6, I honestly believe that is what brought us all together. That and ever divisive none VAC accounts.

Same here. Hope u doing fine!!!

As the others guys have said, forums are not popular nowadays. Also 1.6 is really old game, although is the best game ever. But now we all are hyped, waiting for source 2 update on CS:GO  8)

It's hard to see how time flew by and we all grew apart, I hope everyone is doing well in their lives!
