Title: This board - question.
Post by: GandElf The Gay on February 04, 2018, 11:47:16 am
@Ed I didn't mean to be rude or anything.
was just pointing out something which I think most of the people would agree with

I can wish birthday to someone in a new topic and not mean it, or I can pour my heart out in just a single message.
I never wished anyone if he didn't mean anything to me.

It's natural that we try to look for the most feasible option (and creating a new topic isn't the best one)
You can try a poll and ask the members or just wait out and see the drop in birthday posts

Don't take this negatively. Peace

I remember the last time someone created a separate topic, it was merged with the "Birthdays" topic.

You can also see that people already started wishing again in the same topic you created.

This is one of the small reasons ambrosia is going downhill.
Birthdays topic was just fine, there was no reason to lock it.
Also making the new system for posting pictures and perm locking the members photos topic was just a terrible idea and I'm sure alot of people here can agree. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but this is just my opinion.

@Ed, don't you think that the same thing happens with this system ?

When someone makes a topic, the replies contained in such topic are as meaningless as the replies that were posted in the main birthdays topic.

So I don't get it. This only pushes people not to start topics and therefore, not to wish a happy birthday.

the question is if we didn't wish for our friends, who will do?

watch out boys, we got a philosopher over here.

As to the actual topic, i don't think it particularly matters. I expect most wishes and replies to be as soulless as in the original topic.

We are just talking about simplifying the use of forums.

What's the purpose of starting a topic separately for each member since as I said previously, the wishes won't be more meaningful than before ?

You could suggest people to send private messages and you could add a package that would allow us to send cakes or birthday cards, that'd be better since they wouldn't be doing that for a "like" on the forum or just because others do it.

Cheers.
