Should we not get up a Public server again?
I think its about time to do it now as we are growing again and want to grow even bigger like the old time Ambrosia!

Public server for CS:GO, Left 4 Dead 2, CoD, Rust etc yes, but for CS 1.6 > no.
The only reason DD2 has players is because of boosting, if you're willing to install, manage and boost a server every few days per month then you're welcome to. But it's about time we accepted CS 1.6 has no future, we should stay with 2-3 servers, being the legacy/history of Ambrosia, but that's it. The community is going smaller simply because we still can't move on.

Multiarena server aint really succesful and as I have said this before..There is tons of 1v1 servers..
I might be considering the public or dd2 in CSGO. And populating these also won't be easy..But it is worth of try..

We tried Public for years Mohawk and always the same result > empty server af just like JB and Surf right now.

For the last 5-6 years i played in Respawns servers im talking about cs 1.6 i dont know much about cs go, as for 1.6 servers pretty much all day full i dont know if they"r constantly boosted or not.
as i suggested before https://www.ambrosia-servers.com/community/index.php?topic=37612.msg460880#msg460880
making it a respawn server would be great so players wont be bored waiting to spawn the next round.
Cheers.

Yess for public server, I mean to answer you Silver, public was so fun and it actually had a lot of players joining back then. Jb and surf are kinda boring tbh but for dd2 and public its so fun. Also we get to change and play each time on a different maps. Hope someone can manage it tho.

You guys are the ones suggesting JB and others, and then few months later they are empty so you suggest others and so on...
Public was one of the most unpopular servers of Ambrosia, and like I said, even DD2 that you think is fun has players ONLY because it's being boosted. It s all easy for you guys but I still don't see anyone saying they gonna boost it weekly.

I never suggested JB , sure i supported it but meh. It's only fun when it has many people but everyone seems busy in the winter or whatever. But Public i do talk about it a lot, sure it was unpoppular but it was full, i remember playing in it with a lot of friends/people when Burzum was the manager. I know it's hard to make other servers but i just said my opinion cuz i would definitely play in it.

Sweetie, I knew Public by heart and I started my whole career there before I could join DD2 for years because DD2 at that time was really full of skilled players that's why we used to spend most of our time playing in Public with friends and on different maps so yeah it was funny, but hey no so fast, the only problem that was in Public is the "crowd" so as long as you start to dominate they start to leave the server since we had no boosts for it and it was most of the time 5vs5 players maximum 10vs10 and if someone (good player) enters and starts to kick ass whole players would drop and leave the server and I let you imagine what comes after and without mentioning the fact that it wasn't a stable server as it goes OFF daily due to too many reasons so to sum up, it was always a matter of having players and nobody was boosting it unless when @Max Breaker comes and boosts it, but he always does it for maximum few hours only that's why it wasn't enough, but always appreciated by him, and we all knew that it was dying and has to come to an end one day.

Yeah that's true after u said it, I do remember it like that, It was always 'friends' who join and have fun we would make the server full for like 5 hours but when we leave, the server is empty again and barely any new players plus a lot of problems in the server like u said. I dunno i really enjoyed public but its not easy to make a server and we dunno how its gonna be,plus those 'friends' arent active or there anymore, I think now that our servers arent rlly active, its gonna be hard to make a public server. :(

Most of Public old and loyal players dropped and left the server for many reasons, I can even mention to you their names one by one if you want and that's why the server became really orphan without them and nobody could compensates that obviously. :)

Honestly, we kinda missed public maps as nuke and inferno, but the staff at that time couldn't handle it that good, that's why the server broke down.

If its the boosting that is the problem then i can boost one server all the time untill we get ppl that want to buy VIP or admin rights!
BUt manage a server that i dont have time for to do im not here to do that.
Im here becus im loyal and like it here and also like to play cs when i dont work.
I see soo many servers that are full 24/7 and i want our commiunty to be like that again.

No one can doubts on your loyalty @Mohawk you're one of the oldest members here and you probably played in Public server more than anyone else here including me.

We know who you are and what you've accompliced here mate :) But managing a CS server nowadays requires lots of boosting and time, you know it. Even if one succeeds to manage and keep a server full from boosting, what will the benefit be? A server that half of its players will be bots? Back in the glorious days of CS, boosting was very helpful because it also had PLAYERS. They'd see the server full(of bots), and join for the fun. Now, with much less players, even if you boost in 24/7, it will be full, but mostly with bots. There will be few to no new players joining the server, and even if they do, they probably won't join the community cause they're just playing couple of hours for fun.
On the other hand, CS:GO has about 600.000 players/month!!! It managed to do that in 5 years, while CS 1.6 in Ambrosia's glorious days had about 100.000 players/month! So like I said, I'd go for a CS:GO Public server anytime.

CS GO public servers have success in warming up like FFA DM and pistol FFA servers, retake, etc... Or like what we have now surf bhop and all. But normal boring cs go servers are boring... >.>
I'd rather play competitive with ranks or surf and bhop for fun, than play casual. Just like 90% of people I think...

I realy dident play Public so much when we hade it. Becus i dident know the maps soo good. And still dont know all maps soo good. BUt playing dd2 for 6-8hr starts to get boring now:D. And i dont want to go to play on other servers as i like it on our servers. I always geting banned on other servers and need to make a unban to get free from that ban :(
And for Cs.go. I have it but dont play it becus i dont like it:/ sry.
But if you have problem with booting it. Ron or who ever manage it can talk to me and i can boost it sometime if its needs to ofc.

Yeah cause only we tolerate your cheats :D

Adding a public server it would be a great idea , but only if we are sure that we boost it and work hard on seeing it active

There is no doubt that Ambrosia is a place for us all and when we play outside we all get banned. :D

As it was made clear, if you want another server, you'll need to apply for it. There are no further plans for CS 1.6 servers.
