Okay guys this is actually serious. You have to backup your files, disable SMB 0.1, take the update patch from Microsoft before it hits you. Twitter was on fire yesterday, it's still going on and most of the Windows Xp users are hit by this. Take care.

Well there is a killswitch to it which was under a registered domain so the virus is officially gone now on modern operating systems. Though still should probably patch up, because it's not like anyone's stopping the guy from re-releasing it without a killswitch.

On topic: Its an exploid leaked on 12 april, this wouldn't happen if windows patched it since then. Download the patch, download a good antivirus and you should be good to go.

Im not sure whether ur on PC or on laptop. On laptop its good, on PC was fucking bad. 1- After some months when it was released, the majority of people had downloaded it, but at that time it was unstable and many were forces to take a step back to windows 7 (Including me). this experience makes me not to install it anymore/waste time. 2- Software incompatibilities 3- Not to mention the "Privacy freaks" number which is very high. 4- Gimme the money and maybe ill upgrade
Windows 10 might be better at some points, but this far windows 7 is irreplaceable.
EDIT: Not to mention that windows 10 is not WannaCry proof, so your argument is invalid in every single point.

Me I got a virus Called "CerberRansomeware"and its has many versions unfortunately i got the new one,it was through Teamspeak server and that time had no antimalware for my PC and it erased all my data and had to start fresh but even that i asked a friend who"s good at this domain and he"s said there is no way you can recover your files back in older versions of the malware i can but this new one cannot :(. i tried everything but nothing . cuz it was brand new one. but i think now they got something to remove it.

This years ransomware didnt even needed something downloaded on your computer it could magically show up. So dont think you are safe just because you didnt download anything.
