Hello everyone. Well as you all know surf server has re-opened recently. I was thinking if we could just remove the jail in surf because uhmm first jail is sometimes annoying and for new players who would like to learn how to surf they will be discouraged by everytime falling in jail. Although if the server has not a good ammount of players like 3-4 and some are dead we have only 2 alive left for example one of them fell in jail the other guy most of the time continues surfing and do not fall down which will delay the round and make everyone leave. I have been suggesting that if @black star could add the "Bhop" plugin which allows him to build blocks. Then he could add some blocks for example so that players could have a better chance at getting out from jail or what not.

If they want to learn how to surf, they should join a surf deathmatch server.
Jail is the part of surf server and should not be removed. If you keep falling into it well that's your fault.
Maybe try to improve so you don't fall ? And if players delay, round ends on 0:00 so it's not like we will wait forever for a round to finish.

But but... First "if they wanna learn how to surf" 3 years ago i learnt surf and well i had a rough time learning surf i didnt know there was such a thing as "removing jail" i didnt know diff between deathmatch surf and normal. I think some if the new surfers are like i were.

I've told blacky about DM actually he's working on it, and I prefer not to remove jail because smtime who're not good at surfing will not have a chance to kill someone incase if there's no jail so it woud be harder to kill someone while surfing, in jail I see most of the people enjoy there especially in those maps in which spawn weapons doesn't exists, removing jail will be more arrogant and new players will just leave in other words they can easily wait and kill someone and will become more happy by getting more scores.
Give sometime to blacky, I hope he will bring some good changes.

As @Drunky said jail is a part of the surf removing it will make it impossible for some players to die ( daylight , mano , r3p0rt )
also learning to reach a buy room in a map or a gun room takes 15 mins . So just play the map one time and all would be fine.

You are right at some points. But as u said some ppl are impossible to kill while surfing so they wont fall in jail or like rlly rare so the ones in jail as well the dead ppl will be bored. But still as u said the best thing to do is adding some dm maps so everyone is happy

About removing the jail, well this is a classic surf server, not a death match, and in the classic surf servers the jail is a part of it, if you say that the new players will not learn how to surf, well I played surf here in ambrosia before 4 years, and I knew how to surf even with a jail, why? because when I know there is a jail, I do my best to NOT fall down, meanwhile if there isn't a jail, my focusing in the surfing will be low, and I will not care if I felled down, also, if I am surfing and a random player is following me with a shotgun, you know what will I do? since there is no jail I will fall down and escape from him, so for removing the jail part, I disagree.
About making the surf server a death match, well honestly, if its going to be death match, I will stop playing there, because its really boring, I played in a lot of death match servers, the number of the players who don't know how to surf, is just too much, most of the players are camping especially in the spawns, just to get more kills = more ranks, and it will never teach you how to surf, in death match ur focusing will be on the kills, that is ur objective, getting more kills. In the classic surf server the objective is to NOT fall down in the jail.
About the delaying part, that's why I suggested to force the round to end at 0:00, well at least this is a good way to stop the delays.

The server should be DM like (you spawn with a knife ofc). If you are going to make it DM please consider installing https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=226461, If you don't want to install that just search for the plugins that that it offers and install them seperately.

Ik im little late on this topic but whats the purpose of surf like u surf while u get bored, with jail u can kill people like it make sence to play if u are good u want fall and ull kill ppl that fall. Anyways new ppl can join singleplayer surf and practice thats it from me

Can you give me the plugin that you think its better than the current plugin we use since the old surf server?

Its not a shit actually, its better than the other plugins and its less buggy, the 5 damage can be fixed by lowering it to 2 or 3.

Not sure what you are trying to say about that, we are bad server managers, sorry, we do nothing only playing, that's why there is Points system and shop Plugin, and an achievements plugin, but we are not doing anything, and its preferred to post any bug in the forums, not in the server, since I don't notice the players chat because I am busy in fixing some bugs.

this one is impossible its a game bug, not from plugins.
