Legitimately hard to pick who will win. Astralis was the main favourite, but after this crushing defeat to godsent yesterday, it's not even safe to bet on them anymore.

Literally anyone from VP, SK, Na'Vi, Optic, Astralis and maybe even G2 could take this.

I expect Faze to shake the Legends. The day is interesting match SK vs FaZe. Everyone has waited this match mostly because Fox and Allu will be head to head.

Astralis will struggle like always in Majors..Optic hasn't convince the games they play. Liquid on the other hand can supprise.

I do agree FaZe will make it to legend status, but I don't think they're good enough for Finals which my post was about.
I don't think Fox vs Allu is that much of a matchup, pretty much anyone who watches csgo will unanimously agree that Allu is better than Fox. (Imo most tier B/A players are better than fox).

I don't think it's safe to say they will "struggle like always". They have been in form recently even on bigger LANs, I think today's matchup vs OpTiC will be the main determination if they have any chance. And I'm not sure how OpTiC hasn't convinced you, they were in 2/3 finals in recent LANs they attended (and each one of them had at least 3 elite teams), meanwhile Liquid didn't even qualify for most of those. I do think Liquid is severely underestimated this major and should not be written of like everybody does, but I don't think they'll reach the legend status, meanwhile OpTic most likely will - although admittedly 1st round VP (my overall favourite to win the tournament), and round 2 Astralis (my runner up favourite) is probably the toughest group stage draw a team can get.

I think interesting thing to do would be create a tier list for teams, who we presume will get legend status. Mine would look like.

TeamReasonPredicted finish
1. Virtus ProVeterans, not easily shaken with wide map pool. They will make it to legend status guaranteed.Finals
2. AstralisEven though they are known for choking, I think their form is good enoguh to carry them to legend statusSemifinals (?)
3. Na'ViThey had pretty bad results recently, and are really inconsistent but their raw skill should be good enough to land them at least legend statusAnywhere from quarterfinals to finals (depending on form)
4. SKAlthough fox is a considerable downgrade from fnx, and they already announced he's just a temporary standin, Fallen, coldzera, taco and fer are good enough to land them legend statusSemi-finals
5. OpTic GamingThey've got really unlucky draw so far, but they have unprecedented teamplay and skill for a NA team which will land them legend statusQuarter-final (?)
6. FaZeAddition of Karrigan added much needed leadership to the team. Even in game against Flipsid3 you could see signs of good teamplay.Quarter-final
7. 8. G2, ENVY, NORTH, GAMBIT, GODSENTI feel like any of these could reach the last 2 legend spots, pretty much impossible to predict. Will depend on draws and who will have the better day on bo1.Quarterfinals

Astralis took the championship, who would've thought.
