hello,
I've been playing in dd2 server recently and noticed there is amount of bugs in the servers which caused by some plugins added and some server.cfg wrong cvars set.
I'm not sure how to explain how to fix this as its hard to explain it, but there are some plugins in the server that are bugged like...
Honestly i dont know what plugins you have exactly in the server, but i hope i can get some info about them so i can tell you exactly which can cause bugs.
some cvars i've noticed are set wrong also noticed m4a1 & AK are pretty unplayable with, as there is BIG bullet delay and this cannot be fixed by modifying players settings it can be solved when you modify the server.cfg file and set the right cvars for the server basically you need to change cvars on server.cfg and test in server to see which ones are the right ones for bullets...
can't really explain like this... but i did my best.
Also i've seen the smoke grenade in the server causes massive drop in FPS which is really bad... i suggest you add an anti smoke lag plugin in the server to atleast increase the FPS by 50%...
There is alot more to fix but i honestly don't know whats the plugins set in the server

It sounds like you are using my laptop, because I get massive fps drops with smoke out, but that's my laptop cannot cope with it.

It's from your PC mate, try to get a better graphic card so your FPS would seem fine.

for me it never bugs, and the fps is normal, might be your pc lol ;p

I have been having this issue as well. But seems okay at the moment. + nades lag the hell out of me too not just smoke.

It sounds like you are using my laptop, because I get massive fps drops with smoke out, but that's my laptop cannot cope with it.
Erm well my FPS in others games like league of legends, Smite , etc.. is above 150... on CS its always 101 but when the smoke shows up FPS drops to 30-40...

i had this problem with my old pc too
i was playing always with 40-60 fps, jumping up and down all the time. and when i was near smoke, fps went down to 20 or even less
now i play 99-101 fps, through smoke, no more fps drop. with a better pc, obvs

Damn so smoke green wont work for you anymore? that was my only trick for you whenever we go 1 on 1. :-[

As most of the staff members already replied, is because of your pc/laptop. The "bugs" you mentioned are caused by slow computer or laptop. In addition, slow internet. On top of that, if I'm not mistaken, the host of the server is in the UK and as far as I know you aren't from the UK, are you? The point is, the further you are from "host", the weaker the connection. I still agree with the fact that some plugins do slow down the process of the game but it's quite negligible for strong pc's/laptops, but if the thing is not strong then it has a significant impact on your fps etc.
My advice is to close programmes you don't need, for instance: Skype, Chrome etc. And adjust your computer/laptop for best performance. If you don't know how to do it and you need help with it - PM me.

Erm well my internet is pretty perfect in ambrosia server my ping is 58ms stable and my FPS is 101 stable aswell, its only when the smoke shows up, when there is no smoke my fps doesn't drop below 101. that's why i said there is a plugin that can fix this smoke issues.

It's interesting. You are the first who complained about it. And suggested a plugin. So many other players playing with pin of 114 ms. But they aren't having any issues.

Also a better way to figure out who's admin in server add this plugin with the cvars included below.
Plugin name : Admin Chat Color

Write these cvars in amxx.cfg
- amx_color 1
- amx_namecolor 2
then save and remove the old admin tags this one should be perfect.
Also to fix the delay in bullets try adding these in server.cfg
- sv_maxrate "55000"
- sv_minrate "0"
- sv_maxupdaterate "100"
- sv_minupdaterate "0"

what i noticed in dd2 server is my graphics lagging. i have i5 cpu , 8gb memory, ssd, and a overkill grapic card for 1.6, so hardware shouldn't be a problem.
since is use "fps_override 1" and "fps_max 500" , the lag is gone. maybe it could help you out ? let me know if it helps any of you.

I dont have that delay anymore after Sami sorted it out.. At one stage I couldnt register a headshot! Dont know if you remember but I wasnt a happy man 😂.. Now its just the lag with nades, especially smoke.

hehe yes i remember ;) but still u could tryr above settings to improve perfomance , everything seems a bit smoother imo.

the plugin fixes the FPS rates in the smoke... when u throw a smoke sometimes most of people FPS drops to 40... but when this plugin is available u see smoke normal but ur fps drops to 90-95 fps max...

Try this : Options > multiplayer > Advanced >Set Max Smoke puffs to 150 / and smoke quality to "best looking,Slowest" > Ok > Apply

i use legal steam, and i got max_smokepuffs "0" on config file 8)
but its hard to see through smoke anyways.... dont you think i dont got any smoke on my screen ::) the only is that my fps never drop

@Burzum I did this since I lag with smoke but now I can't see sh*t :D

I noticed a bug with camp zone @Ed . I was camping on warm up round, just as the timer finished I lost 10hp and I started the live round with 90hp.

That really is because of the way the damage is being taken by the engine itself. There isn't really anything we can do about this, try to avoid being damaged just before round ends. It is pretty much with all of the plugins which operate in taking damage just before the round end. It doesn't surprise me that it happens, all I can say is don't be in the damage area at that time etc.

Make it worst quality from in-game that'll do the job, but still you wont be able to see through smoke completely.
