Title: FOR ALL JB TOURNMANET PARTICIPANTS

A GUIDE ON HOW TO RECORD GAMEPLAY/ GET SCREENSHOTS!

So I got the PM from Drunky, with a question - How to record demos? So I thought that it would not be a bad idea to make a guide on HOW - TO.

1. Recording raw demos.
They come up as .dem files. To record them, type in console -> record "name of the demo", without quotes. To stop the recording, type in console - STOP.
When that's done, the demo will be located in your cstrike folder of your game.

2. Taking screenshots -
This is actually tricky for non-steam users. For steam users it's usually F11 or F12 for automatic screenshot take.
For non-steamers there's still tons of ways to do this.

1. Without softwares -
http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-take-a-screenshot-on-pc/ (http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-take-a-screenshot-on-pc/) for quick tutorial.
It can be different key combinations. For my laptop it's FN + PRTSC.
When you have taken a screenshot, it's already copied. You can paste it in easy programs like paint.

This one's by Red Wolf and Momarms -
in cs there is a command called "snapshot"
Just bind a key on that, for example:
bind 'key" snapshot
and whenever you press that key, a ss will be taken and saved on cstrike folder.

2. With softwares - a lot's of them are there for your comfort.
That includes FRAPS, Hypercam, or even smaller softwares.
But I recommend you to stick with the key combination.
3.Recording gameplay with a software.
This is what I do here. I use FRAPS to record the gameplay. The program also allows MIC.
The problem is - the video's will have a very large size, so you might need to reproduce them through Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas, just to lower the size of the recordings. But the advantage is - you can add some edits, meanwhile, to make the footage look more fancy, which is a main key for the win of this tournament.
After the video is made through Movie Maker of Vegas, upload it on youtube and share the video here.

That's the basic tutorial on how - to for contestants. If you have any questions - feel free to ask! (Through PM would be nice).

Jury member Thrashmands.

P.S If you come up with a much easier method on how to take a sreenshot or record - share them with me in PM and I will include em here.

Also important - VIDEO CONVERTOR!
Here's one Red Wolf offered -
https://handbrake.fr/ (https://handbrake.fr/)
From Red Wolf - "Well, actually video format convertors have many options, handbrake has just 2, mkv (which is for movies) and mp4 (which is for youtube).
It compresses video without loosing its quality and converts it into the best appropriate format for youtube, and lowers its size.
U can try it yourself or watch tutorials on youtube."

I have a problem, when i record demos with bandicam and later try to watch them it just shows me black screen.
I tried fraps and d3dgear but it still shows me black screen, don't know what's the problem.

Show me your cs 1.6 video settings and fraps video settings.
Also try recording "Full Screen" or "D3D" on badicam.

try changing rendering mode or color quality. Might try run in widow mode aswell.
