hello ambrosians :V what about making new section or a board for books lovers :) so we exchange books , suggesting each other what to read and what to not ? books reviews ? reading challenges ? , By doing so, we will motivate each other reading more and commit more to reading :D !

Books are interested , just don't make it just books there are comics too like Marvel ones 8) its cool having this section even though it would be active just by 4-5 ppl I believe . It might be useless having an extra board we have so many, in the end we will keep scrolling to find the end of the site xD
But lets give a try even though I believe in the end its gonna be useless

Hmmm... Animes have more fans in such places as gaming communities and yet got rejected if you see the some denied topics... I don't think it's needed in such place :P maybe discuss it in off-topic corner?

No, see it's nothing wrong with Weebo talk for anime shows and stuff as they are themselves a genre that has a viewership audience.
But when it comes to books, well I'd like something more conventional and classic.

Rawr if we make a board, we can have several topics in it making it easier to classify the types
The topics created could be like
- Biography and writing styles of authors
- Different types of books
- Critical analysts' reviews / user reviews
- Online links to read
- Topics in which people ask/recommend etc
but i also feel there won't be too many participants to keep it active
On the other, for a start a single topic having a specific form can be created where we can collect data about the books recommended by users (since this is mostly going novel-oriented)

Author:
Publisher/Publication Date:
Genre:
Size:
Features:
Famous reviews:
Why do you recommend this book?:
A problem in such a topic would be that people tend to go off-topic muddling up the real purpose of the topic
and by off-topic i mean anything other than ^

It's just going to end up being empty with the occasional topic or two, just like the Coding Block. Before asking for a separate section, you should imo show interest and create discussion in already existing sections that fit aswell.
The forum's already huge (and a lot of sections aren't that popular), instead of creating new sections, it would be better to condense them to the essential and develop with what really gathers discussion on the forums (books don't so far).

I completely agree with maki.
And tbh before u came up with the suggestion I never ever saw any interest in books from anyone here.
It is just gonna be another dead section where just a small select group will be but not the majority of the forums.

Either give me useful negative/positive reply or don't bother commenting at all. Read the rules.
On topic: I think the only outcome from this suggestion will be a "Test run" topic at General off topic, and to see if there is any interest in it or not. :)
However, this suggestion is still opened for further discussion.

Came here to avoid books and to forget school and shit, but apparently books are following me everywhere :-[
