Title: Short CS:GO and GMOD downtime [31/3/2015 - Late night]
Post by: Rawrplus on March 31, 2015, 10:54:11 am
Hello, today we will be performing maintenance on our dedi in regards to our servers. This will only influence cs:go and gmod servers. The maintenance will happen today (31/3/2015) late night, approximately around 23:00 (GMT+1) - this late in order for users to experience minimal discomfort - in other words, not during peak hours, so the lowest amount of people get affected. Don't worry, there's no issues or anything, we'll just be upgrading so we can improve the experience and potentially create more servers in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience and sincerely hope you'll tolerate this small period of time where our service won't be optimal.

If everything goes according to plans, it should take no more than 10 minutes.

Have a nice day! :)

Is that a step forward to making the gmod server full?

Yes. It was f*cked over by an exploit and it was impossible to restore.  Now I'll be able to and I couldn't really touch the server without proper configured copy of the server (which was impossible prior to tonight).

We invite aliens to cook for us however, to communicate we need all the power the dedibox has

Actually this specific one has never happened before. It can be various things. Either some exploit we found that needs fixing (although if that was the case we'd probably just prioritize and do it the moment we discover it, instead of waiting for particular time), or a global server restart for database-configuration/amx version update/et cetera. Could be a required dedi restart for installation of software and so on...

Like I'd like to tell you what we're "always doing", but it's "always something different".

Today in particular it's going to be software update :)

As rawr said, previous hosts didn't have upgrade packages so this is completely different. Also it's probably most closes to the host transfers we had back in the years.

But assuming upgrades are just reduction of client restrictions/new panels/storage increase/port handling.

It's a software update

If i'm correct nobody will notice a thing except for an increase pf servers in the long run. No performance chance
