Nick in game: NovemberRaiN
Age: 21
Gaming years: Approximately 10
Admin experience: Maybe 4-5 years, not really sure, not consistently, in different servers.
Professional playing experience: I like playing on Pub servers, not really into professional CS 1.6 gaming, have played Mixes and Wars before.
Knowledge about Counter Strike 1.6 and other CS games: I've got great knowledge about the game, as I have started since I was young. I know many different maps, common spots where people like to hide, wallbanging positions, general movement of players around the maps as well. I don't mean to sound really self-confident, but I know almost everything there is to know about the game.
Knowledge about cheats: I've come across many different cheats in my experience as a gamer, prevented many cheaters from polluting servers. Even if the last time I used a cheat was around 6 years ago, I know how they work, how to spot cheaters even if spectating for a few minutes, and passing a verdict. So far in Ambrosia I have no had a faulty ban, nor have I seen a player permanently banned by memaking an Unban request. Additionally, as an admin, I do not jump into conclusions fast, before I am completely sure that the person I suspect is cheating.
Define a script: A script is a set of commands which are executed in the config folder of the player. They provide the player with an advantage (mostly unfair) over other players. Common script is a bunnyhop script, which enables the player to perform Bunnyhopping without much effort. Not all scripts are bad, and not all of them are forbidden in servers.
How would you deal with Unban requests individually?: When I see a player posting an unban request, no matter who the player is, I will judge everyone fairly and with a clear conscience. If the screenshot is not posted, I will request that the banned player provide us with the screenshot taken on him when he was banned, afterwards wait for the admin who performed the ban to post the demo he/she recorded of the player. Additional information regarding my decision whether to unban him or not also applies - Previous bans, whether the player made the unban request on time (7 days after the ban was issued), whether or not he banevaded during his ban, and if it is a following unban request after his previous one was denied - did he meet the required time to make an unban appeal.
A very important aspect when going through with an unban request is that I allow other players to give their opinions about the demo or screenshot, and whether or not the player should receive a chance to be unbanned.
Which one you prefer (teamwork or working alone)?: Teamworking is essential in most things we do today, as there will be cases which would require me to seek help from other unban pannelists or admins.
Why should you become a member of the panel?: I think I will be a good fit for the unban pannel - I am a fair player, fair judge and I can be neutral in difficult situations. I am very active on the forums, and I can be a metaphorical sponge - absorbing more and more information and knowledge, the more the better. Patience is key in most of these situations, and I do realize some cases will take a long time to solve, but I am willing to play along, and make sure I come up with the right decision at the end.
Thanks :)
