Title: This is how i reduced my ping
Post by: Kam[i]Kaze on February 07, 2014, 07:29:08 pm
Hey guys 8)

today i wanna share with you a solution of high ping issue which worked for me and hopefully for you too

This topic is dedicated to google inc because i really wanna see the results on him since he suffered alot.

alright lets get to it:

1- we need to do a quick test ,so go to www.pingtest.net (http://www.pingtest.net) and test your internet (btw this is optional)
2- go to (http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/ef71/1ssobknouod5wy2fg.jpg) and type your username and password (the default are admin for both pass and user )

and then do the followings:

please note that it might differ from mine depending on the modem you have as i have D-link but it should be the same

so the thing is that you have to change the Modulation Mode, you should find it as "auto sync-up,or adsl2"

so what you gonna do is to change it to something else(what i did was g.lite)why?

well because i tried them and everytime, i ran a test at pingtest.net and the most appropriate for me was g.lite

and i used to have ping arround (200-140) >:(

now my ping is (80-and sometimes i drops to 70)  ??? and my internet speed is 1mb(120kb/s of download | 20kb/s upload)

wanna see you guys trying it,and tell us how it worked for you

Guys with a low ping already..pls dont try it(have mercy on us)

Thank you so much kami, My router is Dlink as well and my ping is between 140 and 200 just like you, My internet speed is 10mbps but idk really, Maybe because im faraway, as dubai is far from uk.. i tried your idea but i didnt find that option, add to this that i dont use ASDL, We in my country use fiberWires, Even if i dont understand a hell in networking  ;D but still.. didnt find the option..

I really appreciate it from u kami, Even if it didnt work, it means alot to me :), Add to this that i got used to the 140 ping xD i mean when i join a server with ping 12 to 20, I cant even knife people xD i feel like its very hard, Because im used to stab for example just before i reach the player, because the response to server will take some small amout of time..

Thank you again :)

If you cannot find that option then it will be your ADSL protocols. From PPPoE to PPPoA it will only work if your provider supports it though, in most cases they do...

try to run "ipconfig /flushdns" then run "ipconfig /renew".

remember if asked u about the pass and user it's usually admin, admin

if still didn't work ,then use the reset button (press it for like 20-30 secs)

Assuming that (192.168.1.1) is not your default Router Gateway where you could access your setup...

Go Start Menu > Type cmd in Search field
Once the Cmd window pop up, Type ipconfig then Press Enter.
Search for Default Gateway, Then Copy The IP Adress Next to It in Your Browser.. That probably should open the Setup page of your Router.

Else, If it's not the case then Call your ISP for assistance. I had the same problem a year ago, I couldn't open the Setup page to forward some ports, Turns out that some proxy program was messing up with my connexion.

A way to see what IP u need to get into your Router is to check your standardgateway.
This shows the router IP and this is always the way u can login to in.

For me it is 192.168.0.1.

For people who doesn't know how to get there follow these steps:
Windows 7:
Configuration -> Networkcentrum -> LAN-Connection -> More details.

Someone fill me up with XP or Windows 8 since i forgot how that was.

How is that even possible.... XAMP or WAMP normally should take the adress of your localhost or 127.0.0.1 not your default gateway... That if you didn't mess up with the installation wizard and modified some things

I used xamp o.o

WAMP or XAMP are similar...

This is My Default Gateway Adress 192.168.1.1 leading to my router's config page.

This is my localhost
(http://imgur.com/oxpVScI.png)

And this is when I enter 127.0.0.1
(http://imgur.com/Zk63Fod.png)

As you can see localhost and 127.0.0.1 are perfectly the same, as for 192.168.1.1 it's another thing.
From what you said, you got these adresses mixed up so the default Gateway turning into your localhost is really confusing

To check your default gateway , the URL you type in browser to open router page.
Start Menu -> run -> cmd
or just start menu cmd...
Then a command prompt should open , type in it
Ipconfig
You'll get many things , search for Default gateway and type that IP in browser.

well mr x,as i said ,i used to have 150 which dropped to 80-70 after changing to modulation,
so everyone should try(it's not permanent ,so u can change it back),therefore if any one suffered like me,now they will be happy :)
