You want to play your favourite song and suddenly the only thing you hear is your own weird voice?
No problem! Follow these simple steps to make you feel like a real DJ again!
1. Open HLDJ
2. Click on Setup (cogwheel)
3. Click the extended View button (double arrow)
4. Check "Use alternate Game Audio Directory"
5. Now this is the most "tricky" part of it. Navigate to your CS 1.6 directory. For me its C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life
Now there are 3 possible options:
- You see cstrike and cstrike_yourlanguage (for me its cstrike_german), put the cstrike folder as alternate Game Audio Directory and the cstrike_yourlanguage folder as main dir.
- You see cstrike and cstrike_hd, put the cstrike folder as alternate Game Audio Directory and the cstrike_hd folder as main dir.
- You see both options, so a cstrike, cstrike_yourlanguage and a cstrike_hd folder, put the cstrike folder as alternate Game Audio Directory and the cstrike_hd folder as your main dir. If it doesnt works try to set the cstrike_yourlanguage folder as main dir.
EDIT: - You see something else, stay calm and start to burn down your house slowly. Funny looking people with party lights and hats will appear to help you.
6. Go ingame and enjoy! :)

i had the problem and had to google it, thought i could make it easier for the next one with the same problem, since its a up-to-date issue. :)

I have a prob noob Speedy, when i launch HLDJ all good until i play music, it doesnt sound good, bad quality and you can't really hear the singer sing, any solutioN!?

its quite normal since .wav + cs 1.6 voicestream sucks. you could "master" the song with Goldsource.

Or audacity. Hldj has a built in converter too.

Hey, I tried burning down my house, cause I got something else, the party people didn't help much...They just took the hose and doused the fire. So I had to start a fire again.. but seriously I got somthn else but meh valve will fix it

hldj uses .wav data format so you just need to search for a .wav to .mp3 converter. (google .wav 2 .mp3/ .wav to .mp3)
but i recommend to download a new .mp3 file of the same song. god invented the internet for exactly 5 reasons.
1. porn,
2. piracy,
3. soft porn,
4. google your complaint to experience youve got every kind of known cancer,
and
5. HOLEYSHEETWHATDHAFUGGWAZTHISS!!!
second point should fit for this situation, check filestube.com or something.
if you asked for better quality music to play in cs 1.6, forget it.

K I fixed it there was something wrong with my folder. Um this is what I do for Hldj music. 1. Find the song on youtube. 2.Copy the link. 3.Go to www.snipmp3.com (http://www.snipmp3.com). 4.Paste the link. 5.Let it convert (>2 seconds) 6.Download and convert with hldj. The quality is good with the hldj converter (even without downloading the HQ Version of le song. Enjoy
