How to make maps for CS 1.6 ?

1. You need to download Valve Hammer Editor 3.4

# Download links:

Download Valve hamer editor 3.4
http://www.cstrike-planet.com/files?dl=40 (http://www.cstrike-planet.com/files?dl=40)

Counter-Strike 1.6 Non-steam (LongHorn)
http://www.esportskosova.com/lh2012.exe (http://www.esportskosova.com/lh2012.exe)

2. Install it (4example:C;\Program Files\Valve Hammer Editor)
3. Double-click on Valve Hammer Editor 3.4.exe (desktop)
4. If you open Valve Hammer Editor 3.4 for the first time a window will pop up. (configure valve hammer editor)
    - most of ppl fails in this part so watch tutorial video (by me ! -.-)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh1uC2hLY2M (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh1uC2hLY2M)
This video isn't mine ! I made one but it's deleted.

When you're done with configuration

Open Valve Hammer Editor 3.4 and then File>New

Choose texture and select block tool and make a room 8x8

How to change wireframe view ?
click on the left corner of the 3d camerra and select 3d textured.

How to make block hollowed ?
click on the select tool and click on the top view (not 3d camera)
and right click on it and select Hollow (put 64 to the textbox)

How to move with camera?
Now use camera tool to movie into your room. (W,A,S,D on keyboard and mouse)

How to make spawns ?
Click on the entity tool and select info_player_start in Objects selection.
Click on the 2d map and create a point of the spawn. When you're done right click on green dot (2d map) - create object.
That should create a spawn for CT.
.

CT = info_player_start
T  = info_player_deathmatch

How to make light ?

Warning! dont use too much lights
2 much lights = 10 fps ! :D

Use the same way as in the Spawn tutorial.
- find entiny object called: light

Now your maps is ready to compile !

There are 3 ways how to do this step. Ill show you fastest one :) File>RUN or F9
Then u have to save your map as .RMF file (rmf file is file of Valve Hammer Editor maps) - (example: photoshop has .psd file, so you can anytime edit your project)

To run Counter-Strike 1.6 NOT Half-Life write this to the textbox:

Click OK and your map is ready to play :) It ill open CS 1.6 and run map.

Good tutorial , just one question.
How do you assign a button to trigger something , for example lets say I'm making a jailbreak map and I want the button to open the cells and another button to open the cage door and then another to do a game in the cage like 123.
Or In my case , Trigger a button to activate a trap ( deathrun )

func_door ( for cells) you need the texture (Origin) and make a block within the door. Then hold ctrl and select both (the desired door and origin block) - hit ctrl+t and make it a func_door. Make sure to name it for example - "door" .

Make another box and select texture button, then tie it to entity button_target.
Go on target option and copy the name you used for the door - "door"

Installation error. Reinstall the game and make sure your mirror is from the official developer and not a 3rd-party web.
